Anyone else have their Rewards promo for June through August show up in their account? As a new platinum, here's what showed up for me 20k after 15 nights , additional 10k after 20, additional 10k after 25nights.
Summer Bonus- Gold Status "Register by June 30, 2012 Stay twice at any participating hotel between June 1 and August 31, 2012 Earn one free night after every second paid stay, up to three free nights"
I got this same Summer Bonus offer for free nights in cat 1-4 hotels. Although the point offer that the OP got is a pretty nice one, I'm happier with the stay based bonus for free nights as I feel I get more value and am more likely to achieve part or all of the goal.
Free night certificates are much easier to achieve. 25 nights in 3 months is a decent amount of travel, and that only gets you 2 nights at Cat 4. Of course, if you're after Cat 8 hotels, then certificates are of no value. FWIW, I have the same points offer available to me.
Agreed about higher cat hotels... but I find some pretty good cat 4 hotels in SoCal, Vegas and PHX when I am just doing close in travel which doesn't necessarily require the high cat spend. Like anyone else, I enjoy staying at luxury hotels but sometimes, it's nice to just getaway and not have to pay.
I'd rather have the certificates promo too, but both this and my Spring MegaBonus promos are points based. I guess I shouldn't complain about free stuff.
If you're Platinum with Marriot Rewards, you can call and they'll usually switch you to the promotion target you'd prefer.
We're taking 5 days in the cayman islands in a category 7 in September. So the points based offer is much more useful. I was able to get the 35 k points from the megabonus promo. Didn't quite make the full 50 thousand.
Just got started on this promo and should have my 3 nts by mid July. I have a few places where I tend to use my Cat 1-4 rewards but open to exploring other great places to redeem them. What are some of the best places you've redeemed these certs?
I am trying to take advantage of the 5k pts for Springhill stays. I have an upcoming work stay where I will be there for two nights but on the second night I reserved a separate room for a coworker. I'll be paying for that room too, will that count as my two stays for the bonus?
