Put me down for LAX. Still feel like the perpetual newbie, but glad to participate.

You're of course more than welcome. Everyone is welcome to everything here on milepoint.com! The site is 5 days old, think Newbie covers most of us :p

Will we get "Original Member" status for attending and participating at a Gathering? Just a thought, always thinking......[IMG]

I don't know about that, but you should reach "original member" pretty easily if you stay active for a couple days.

I think there should be some special status awards for attending, maybe a free bump up to Gold [IMG]

Hyatt Summerfield Suites LAX in El Segundo is the venue for LA. Randy will be there Friday night for dinner and for the sessions on Saturday morning. The sessions will go till 5PM on Saturday after Randy leaves.

    Dinner on Saturday in SFO

Anyone have any idea for restaurants near the Hyatt SFO?

I may be getting a bump on Friday from SJC. If that happens, I'll ask to be rebooked out of SFO. Would it be a problem if I can only attend half of the SFO event?

Absolutely not. Hope you can make it!

Same here! If the GA will rebook me from SFO, instead of SJC, I'd love to attend :)

I finally noticed the O'Hare gathering but where are the east cost gatherings listed?

We've done Thai here before. Pretty informal but everyone was happy with the food. Not within walking distance of the Hyatt if you're looking for something on that side of 101.

Or Mexican, also on the other side of 101. Lucky always end up here.

Or brewery restaurant on the other side of 101 (only been here once and it was crowded--not sure I'd want to do a Sat night here):

A block away from the Hyatt (pretty crowded when I went there for dinner last time but food was good, though a little pricey):

Or a franchise Mexican restaurant- 4/10 mile up the road, so a 10 minute walk from Hyatt:

On the same side of 101off the Bay but not walking distance--small cafe adjoining Red Roof Inn--I've been there for breakfast but not dinner.

I was once traveling on from downtown SF to catch a SJC-LAX flight. There was an accident on Caltrains and they stopped the trains for 1 hour so I wasn't going to make my flight.

I was able call the 1K line, explain the situation and have them re-book me onto SFO-LAX. They said it was a one-time exception and I was on hold for 10 minutes while CSR was talking to her supervisor about it. I was really grateful for the 1K line as I made it from Milbrae to SFO via Bart in no time.

Wow, I posted on the other thread that I'm going to make it Saturday morning, but I might just have to beg my family to let me have the whole day.

At $25-40 for an entree I would hope so.

I think I did this backwards... but I'll be attending the LAX session on Saturday. I already confirmed in the official thread.
I just saw a "AAA Breakfast" rate of $125 for Saturday night at the HSS LAX.

Wow, that's great! So that's better than we got from the GM :rolleyes.
