Some here on MP are using her to post - apparently a microphone shows up by the keypad and you press that and dictate your MP post ... :)

That is hilarious! Siri has been fun so far but I haven't tried using her for posting. I might have to try that at some point.

Does the forum runner push notification for the milePoint app only work for subscribed threads or forums also? I do not seek to be getting push notifications for favorite forums.

Unless it is an undocumented feature I wouldn't expect to get push notices on a favorite forum. Here is how the Forum Runner page describes how Push Notices work:

I have a dumb question. How do I clear the # from the mike point app o. iPhone? It says I have 23 alerts and has been saying that since I have had it. :)

As ACMM always says, "there are no dumb questions... ."

Are you referring to the red badge on the home screen MP icon? If you want to remove the notification altogether, go to Settings > Notifications > milepoint and turn off "Badge App Icon."

If you want to "reset" it to 0, you should just be able to go into the app (or the website) and make all the unread threads read. Note that if your first unread message in a thread is not on the last page, the thread will maintain its unread status in "Watched Threads" (www) or "Subscribed" (app) until you view the last page.

Note that (in my experience, at least), the app alerts are really just unread watched threads, not likes/points/etc (i.e. a subset of "Alerts" from the website).

If this isn't clear, or doesn't answer your question, just reply back with more info.

Thank you! When I was going through my settings, I had no clue what a badge app icon notification was, lol. Now I do. All these little things I am learning. Now I don't see the 23 anymore. Yay! :)

I log into Milepoint via Facebook, but it seems you cannot log onto the Milepoint iPhone application using Facebook. Anybody know a way around this?

It doesn't appear that it is possible to login via your facebook account from what I can tell. I believe there is a way to disconnect your facebook account and your mp account so you can set an mp password that will allow you to use the mobile app. You should then be able to reconnect your facebook and mp accounts if you would like also. I think Mikel has guided a few people on separating accounts in the past and will see if he can get us some instructions.

As noted, the Facebook connect option, though convenient, isn't very intuitive when it comes to logging in via alternate methods.

To make this work, you need to login to milepoint and visit your personal details page, then click on the 'Facebook Integration' link and disassociate your account. Then you can log out and use the password reset option to have a new password sent to you. Finally, you can log in using the new password, then go back to your personal details page, select the 'Password' link and change your password ... and then you can re-associate your milepoint and Facebook accounts if you so choose.

Certainly not an ideal solution, but it should get you where you want to go.

I see this a lot. I find that when it happens I'm not "in" a post -- hitting "reply" asks if I want to reply to thread (not post). If I tap in the quad-spaced post, I'm taken to a screen where the post displays single-spaced, and hitting "reply" replies to that post (doesn't ask, quotes it).

    See alerts on iPhone/iPod app?

Is there a way to see one's alerts using the iPhone/iPod app? The app badge shows a number in red, but I can't find a way to see the alerts.

No I do not think there is ... and not sure (at least on an iPhone) how practical that would be. Possibly on the iPad.

This seems to be the thread for general questions about the iOS app, so I will add this one to the discussion...

Are there any plans to update the MP app to support the iPhone 5's taller screen? It would make the app experience much nicer!

I've gotta say, the app has made it more convenient for me to do quick checks while on the move, with both my iPad and iPhone 4S. Siri hasn't really been much of a help though.

Agree on the usefullness of the app. Almost too useful :)

Yes, tweaks already underway. I "had" to buy new iPhone5 for "testing" purposes!

When accessing MP from my iPad i greatly prefer to use Safari. But I get badgered with dialogs asking if i want to download the app. I don't but it keeps asking. Is there any way to turn that off?

Because the price in AUD$ includes GST but it doesn't in USD$?
