A COUPLE paid for their wedding by saving up a staggering 40,000 supermarket loyalty card points.

Maggie, 60, and Mike Davies, 63, managed to rack up the points over 18 months by doing all their grocery shopping at Sainsbury’s.

Using their Nectar points they managed to put together a sumptuous buffet to feed all 140 guests.
The Davies, from Kidderminster, Worcs, spent £200 worth of points in store on a feast of sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls and desserts.

They had met working at the town’s Sainsbury’s store and a choir of colleagues sang at the ceremony.

Deli worker Mrs Davies, nee Alderman, added: “It would have been really tight without the points.
