AFAIK whoever booked the reservation will get 100% of the points/nights/benefits.

If you're sure you're going to stick with Sheratons, the 500pts/night makes sense. If you were going to book a Sheraton Club room anyway, book it with your Amex and you will get the 1000pts on top as well. Don't book the club room just for the points though (the extra cost will negate the points).

AFAIK there are no half nights with SPG. At best one of your will get all the credit, either whoever pays from the viewpoint of the hotel or whoever has their name listed first. I don't think there's a way to put two SPG numbers on one reservation.

For the Sheraton 500 bonus points per night, note that these must be booked through a Starwood website.

Depending on the price difference, the club room can be worthwhile if you are not elite, in that club access (including breakfast) and internet/health club charges can be substantial. Be sure to compare what is included with the club room versus what you would have paid for those items that you would otherwise purchase at the hotel.

Thanks very much misterbwong and MSPeconomist!

It's a business trip and I'm not sure my colleague is even collecting points, so he probably wouldn't mind if I got them all. It would be nice to have two separate folios though since we get reimbursed from different entities. Maybe we can figure something out with the hotel.

I think that I have a clear understanding on how eligible night and stays are calculated for the promotion, but I'm not clear about how some of the bonus are calculated. I have some question for which I couldn't find an answer, apologies in advances if the answer has been posted and I missed it.

For all the following assume that I pick May-July as the time period and I choose either double points after 2nd stay or triple points for 15 eligible nights.
    1. I have a Check in 4/29 and checkout 5/2 are all points doubled/tripled or only the ones for the 5/1 to 5/2 night?
    2. I book two rooms in the same hotel (family travel) are the points for both rooms doubled/tripled or just one?
    3. I book a room using C&P, are the points for the room (cash part) doubled/tripled?
    4. I book an award room, are points for misc. expenses doubled/tripled?
    Thanks in advance,

Well, phooey, phooey, phooey. I first read as three elite stay credits for 10 nights. That was exciting.

How depressing to discover that misread. :( I am soooooooooo disappointed.

    - all nights including 4/29 are doubled or tripled

I book two rooms in the same hotel (family travel) are the points for both rooms doubled/tripled or just one?
    - both rooms will earn you points and they are doubled or tripled for both rooms. You can earn points on up to three rooms.

I book a room using C&P, are the points for the room (cash part) doubled/tripled?
    - yes the cash portion is doubled or tripled

book an award room, are points for misc. expenses doubled/tripled?
    - yes. Almost all points you earn are tripled or doubled (spa spend doesn't seem to count)

Here's my summary of the points I earned in May. I selected triple points.

I went with the Triple Points, finished my last stay (that put me over 15 nights) on Friday, and the bonus posted in the past day! :D
