I stated 7pm as a "safe" time.

Due to the size of our group, I am going to discuss a set menu (means set price as well) w/the restaurant, this set menu will have more than a number of Malaysian 'hits' on it, allowing one to try numerous items.

For those going on the day activities, what time do you reasonably think you'll be able to make dinner by?

Hi all I am so sorry to have to cancel for dinner. Decided to run down to Miami for the day to see my folks.double AA miles didn't hurt either. Looking forward to meeting everyone in one week!

Activities should be over by 3pm I think.

due to the size of our group, I went to the restaurant this evening & spoke with the mgr. We decided a tasting type menu would be a good way for all to get quite a nice variety of items to try as well as provide a single price point for everyone so there are no quarrels about who ordered what.

The restaurant does have a full bar, you are responsible for your own drinks.

Soda is served w/the meal if one wishes.

Menu is as follows (each person gets a serving of ALL of the following)

Starter:
Roti Canai - an Indian flatbread (foldable chewy kind) served w/a curry chicken dipping sauce.

Salad:
Gado Gado - jicama, string beans, bean sprouts, egg, tofu, cucumber, tomato w/peanut sauce dressing

Soup:
Soto Madura - billed as Indonesia's favorite soup, served w/sliced beef, boiled egg & shrimp crackers.

Entrees (each person gets a serving of all of the following)
Pattaya Chicken - fried chicken w/a salad of mango, chilies, mint, & peanuts

Beef Rendang - cubes of beef sauteed w/onion, chili, and lemongrass curry paste

Mango Shrimp - Stir fried shrimp w/bell peppers, onion, fresh mango in sweet/spicy sauce

If many of you are staying at the Hyatt Schaumburg, perhaps someone could take it upon themselves to see if the hotel shuttle could drop off/pick you guys up from the restaurant? (restaurant address is 1720 W Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, Penang is less than 3 miles from Hyatt)

I have a room at the Holiday Inn Express Arlington Heights for this Saturday night, this property offers free shuttle to/from Penang Restaurant (hotel is ~1/2 mile from restaurant).

I am willing to part with room for $55 all in (no taxes or additional fees, free HIX breakfast). Plus a ride to ORD on Sunday morning if someone needs it.

FYI, this reservation list will be closing by tomorrow morning (Friday). No more add ons after that.

Just checked with Guest Services. The shuttle can be arranged for transport, but NOT at 6 P.M. as this is their scheduled Mall run. And it is suggested to reserve it as Saturday evening is their busiest time? So, I guess if we were to do it, we would need a definitive set of times and possibly just how many people would make use of it? And can't wait too long as someone else could reserve it?

Also spoke to Doug, the front desk manager, and confirmed that the shuttle can take us, departing here at 6:40pm. We're in the shuttlle book if that means anything. The dinner is still at 7pm, isn't it?

But I need a headcount. So start a conversation with me or email me or send up a semaphore if you plan on taking the shuttle.
