With the way AA has been handing out EQMs like candy (on OWMD, but also via DEQ11 and DEQAA), I knew that it had to be point based. But I had (and still have) faith in you, Ed, so I held out a glimmer of hope.

Yes, I’m afraid, and this was likely the point, and I don’t mean this for just in my case alone, that this will be a shore too far away for me to reach now that it’s come out as Points rather than EQM’s.

A quick note to all that attended the Mega DO. I just noticed this myself, so I thought I'd share:

The Free One Day Admiral's Club pass that we received was a great thing, but even better is there is a $100 discount off of a NEW Admiral's Club membership included with use of the pass. For EXP this = $250, which is worthy of a mention.

Yes, I thought it was a good deal. A couple of weeks after the DO - I was departing LAX and decided to join. I could either use the pass for a one day visit and apply to a membership or just a one day visit but then you had to surrender the discount coupon. So I got a membership.

The writing on the back of the card is in small white letters on a light blue background so it is hard to read. There is supposed to be a promo code on the back by it is not readable.

So the AC agent at LAX took my credit card and coupon and processed. She had to make calls, but about 1/2 later she paged me in the club and all was taken care of.

A couple of days later (independent of this) I got a letter from AA about joining the club with a $50 discount. This was sent before I joinged. So the $100 off was a better deal.

Net - allow extra time if you want to redeem the DO coupon at an AC - and likely best to do in the daytime. They will likely have to call to get the code

YMMV, but my membership was processed at ORD H-K club in no time, with no calls.

In addition, as QF Emeralds have access to Admirals Clubs regardless of class of travel, I have my voucher at home sitting around gathering dust.

If there's any MP'ers out there that would find some use for it, please drop me a line and i'll get it in the post to you. It's end of April expiry so still some time. Would be a shame for such a generous offer from AA to go to waste

I don't understand this concept of "leftover gin"--in my experience, gin is never left over?
