Can anyone tell me if there's free street parking overnight at this location? I'm staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, located at 500 H Street NW.
Yes. Street parking is free overnight. Just remember to move your car or put money in the meter first thing in the morning. Read the meter. Cost is 50 cents for 15 minutes. During the day, you can only park for 2 hours at most locations. We got to our hotel in the early afternoon, so I parked at P Street around 4th. That area has unlimited parking. It was a 15 minute walk back to my hotel. Read the signs.
Better advice has never been given... I think most of the big cities count on tourists not paying attention or not being able to understand all the signage so they can tow the cars or give them tickets.
