Even more impressive now that you have done it. If only I could figure out how to do this ... misconnect what did you think I was taking about
Exactly. I figure by doing this trip I pre-purchased future travel for about 15-20% of the retail value. A great investment, I had fun doing it, and will have even more fun trying to get over it. And if I win one of the other challenges at the same time, even better! ;-)
Seems like a high percentage of misconnects but without a context to it all it's hard to judge. Anything unusual or just regular stuff and some tight connections?
It was only one misconnect, it just caused several segments to require changing, a night at Hilton ORD, and some free McDonald's fries
No chance of me usurping wijomas's well deserved lead. Some of us have to work this month and I generally eschew pure MRs. My April travel though pretty hectic includes a couple of pre-planned holidays and a couple of long weekends away. The fortuitous timing of AA's challenge coinciding with a fare sale meant I got to to visit Tokyo for the first time including sampling the lovely Grand Hyatt there so all good wherever I finish . On the downside my mileage total is correct to the mile and thus I have nothing to complain about apart from great FAs on AA serving me too many G&Ts. In hindsight maybe I shouldn't have worn my OWMD t-shirt.
Not always necessary. Earlier in April I had the same FA on the same 67 mins flight on 3 different days within a week. As I was boarding the 2nd flight the FA said to me "G&T easy on the ice". I laughed and subsequently had 4 G&Ts. As I got off I told him my record on this segment is 5. When I boarded the 3rd flight 5 days later he said to me "we're going to break the record today". Sure enough he immediately gave me a G&T as the pdb (he didn't realise it was against regulations in this particular station) which caused looks with the other pax as they later got the OJ and water. I only had 5 in total as I was connecting onto Rio (and not flying SEA-LAX ) but it was good fun. Good effort on the FA's behalf in adding a personal touch.
If you are still at ORD, let me know. I'm on my way to the airport (should be there in less than an hour)
Just packed mine to wear coming back from MSP on Sunday! Can a t-shirt make me a rockstar? We'll see .. [Really liking the free Milepoint access on GoGo - I'm bumping along in AAL1284 heading north as I type this]
In other news, McDonald's sales up 3.3% in April, lower than expected, New Zealand frequent flyer blamed for spending too much time on planes, and not enough at McDonald's: http://trib.in/KJGM6L
Alas. I believe I had already left ORD by the time you would have arrived, I didn't have a very long laypver. Perhaps another time Just flew through again on the return trip. Hope you are doing well. We did survive the water evac
"McDonald's did however notice exceptional increases in their airport restaurants, particularly in the US airports of Chicago O'Hare and New York's John F. Kennedy International."
"Surprisingly, certain McDonald's in Chinese airports failed to experience any significant Y-O-Y growth due to antiquated policies that prohibit selling of french fries at certain early morning hours, despite the pleading of hungry customers."

I must say that I am completely and utterly shocked - shocked, I say - that wijomas is the apparent winner for April. Stunned. Who would have guessed?
Somebody must have added an extra couple of numbers to his totals Sent from my iPhone using milepoint
