Priority Club Visa 80,000 points just after one use

I found a link on another site and applied for the card. I got a denial because I have other Chase cards. I called and was allowed to cancel an non-earning card to qualify for the PC card. I then spoke to Chase customer service and was told I would be getting 80000 points but to play it safe could I get a code in the event I do not receive the bonus? Thanks. Others have reported that they receive 60000 points and when they call they are told the 80000 points is a targeted offer and if a code or invitation can be provided they will honor the promotion.

My first post and I feel greedy for asking, but can someone please send me the target offer code? I've spent the past month reading everything I can find and wanted to thank everyone for all of their posts. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I'm sure that would change if I can get the family to Hawaii next year!

Got the 80K offer in late Dec and waited to apply for this very reason. Applied and approved last week and card arrived yesterday. Now for a minor charge to trigger the 80k.....

I got this card 1+ year ago and tonight I am enjoying my free night after first year renewal. Still have plenty of points for next month's Pointbreaks stay and more.......... :)

I applied in November and made a purchase on the 1st of January, worked just fine.

I am actually holding off on this card because my wife got the card last year. We will have her Platinum status through the end of 2012 and then I will apply for the card in January of 2013 for another 2 years of Platinum. Hopefully they will still have the 80k offer going then (or maybe more?).

Anyone have luck churning this card?;)

If it helps any, this is the second time I have this card in 4 years.

I have not received the invite. Yesterday, I spoke with a PC CSR about merging accounts and she asked me whether I wanted to apply for the Visa. She said it came with 60,000 points. I told her if she could get me 80,000 okay. She could not. I will be patient.

Got this card last year, and it is one of the few fee cards I am actually going to keep. For the small annual fee I get two benefits that I value more than the fee:

    1. Free night at any hotel (and yes, it does go toward 50,000 points night in IC).
    2. 10% rebate on award redemption. Combined with Cash+Points this can result in extremely good redemption values (e.g., Stay bridge in Times Square NYC, could be had (prior to the recent change) for $60 + 8,000 points a night after the rebate - extremely good redemption value for NYC).

Yes, well worth the $49 fee.
This was my first hotel card. The 80K points got me Platinum status, which I then was able to use to get status matches at 3-4 other hotel chains, which has led to room upgrades and bonus points at those chains.
I have also gotten a few thousand points back thru the 10% rebate. :)

I have the old PC visa with no fee and no free night, any chance they will let me convert and get the 60 or 80K points?
    Anyone have luck doing that?

How does the free night show up in your account? Is it electronic or a physical paper certificate?

They send paper reminders that it is coming, but it is electronic. However I never saw it when I logged into my account, but when I called to make a reservation, they gave me the free night. So, if you're at or very close to your first anniversary, then call PC.

It is electronic. I never received notification it was in my account despite about 4 postcard preparing me to the big event. It is just appear in your account around the anniversary date. Calling priority club the can see it and apply it to your stay (must book by phone).

Yes, they send a LOT of paper reminders, many months ahead of time.

But, I gather they do this as a way to make sure people have an updated email on their account, and also to remind people of the free night benefit when the first year's fee comes due.

Got the offer again in an email ... sorry cannot give the link as it has my personal information:

It seems like the terms has changed from earning 80K PC points after the first swipe to after a minimum spending $1000 in the first 3 months. But no problem, that is only two VR cards, right? ;)

Wow, those bennies are much better than the PC Capital One MC issued in Canada. We get 50K points at initiation and the 5 points, etc but no free night or any of those other soft benefits like no fees etc. That's what I get for living in an under populated wealthy Country.:(

Did you close the old one first one, wait, and then apply for the second? If so, how long was it closed?

I'm also looking for other experiences cancelling and waiting to reapply for a Chase card. Almost coming up on 2 years since I first applied for Chase BA. Trying to figure out if I'll ever be able to get the bonus again.

I had it closed for probably almost 2 years. I actually forgot at first that I've applied for the card before.

Usually with Chase you can get the bonus again after the card was close for 18-24 months. Or at least that what it used to be. I am not sure they will be so generous in the future.

So I am not sure If I should post the link here, but the Link in the thread on TOBB is functional. Applied last night and was confirmed this morning after shuffling around some credit.

80k for $1000 in spending in 103 days.

The link to the thread is on @ScottRick's http://hackmytrip.com/credit-cards/hotel-credit-cards/
