Are you logged into MP on iPad Safari? I wasn't on my Android Chrome browser when I was seeing it yesterday. And I did not see the problem yesterday when I used my logged-in iPad Safari browser.

Yes I'm logged in. It was a bit better in the last hour, but it comes and goes and yesterday I just stopped using mp onmy iPad b/c it was just too annoying!

Well I didn't want the app....even before I read how buggy it was!

Acutally, truth be told, the only issue I have had with the app is this notification issue which is easily handled... I find it more useful to use the app to follow MP that a web browser ... it allows you to have subscriptions to forums and not just threads which the web version does not ... a very good app IMHO

Not a solution. I use Safari on my iPad to access MP. I find it more convenient than the app. I just "work" off the alerts and the "What's New" page to see what's going on. Very efficient. So assuming estnet feels the same, d/l-ing the app wouldn't do anything as it won't prevent the dialog.

(sorry, looks like we're now turning THIS thread into the one that was closed due to going off-topic)

They are still working on the fix and as you can see from this post, many other forum owners are not happy because this fix was alluded to be coming out back in early October. Also, you can tell from others that Internet Brands who recently bought the app builder has not been very forthcoming with updates on the situation. We'll continue our own full-court press to get this resolved:

I am a bit confused by that post on the forumrunner site. Turning off the notifications for the MP app did disable those annoying notifications for me (of course, the downside is that I don't get ANY MP notifications anymore). Since this is an OS-level setting, if it didn't work, I'd consider it an iOS bug.

I replied to that thread with our "solution" to the problem, but I haven't gotten a response yet. I'm thinking that most people don't think to turn off the "View in Lock Screen" setting which seems to have been the key for myself and others.

Just a +1 on the annoyance factor of having to click through "yes, I know there's an app, just go there anyway" every time I access MP via iOS browser.

    Thanks.

I find this very strange as I use FireFox and Chrome to access MP and I never see any popups regarding getting an app.

As there is no Firefox browser for iOS, I assume you're using Firefox and Chrome on your computer ... in which case there is no such popup.

However, when using an iOS device, regardless of which browser I use (Safari, Chrome, Atomic, etc.) I am always fed a pop up reminding me that there's an app.

    Good news
The app developer has identified the problem and it is with their backend and not the app itself, so it won't even need an update (although there will be one coming soon to optimize for iOS6 and iPhone 5 anyways). They're fixing the issue now and I'll report back when they give the all-clear.

The solution has already been implemented for Android OS
