In other words SAS is loosing SEK 176 for every passenger they fly.
Considering I only paid them 350SEK for CPH-OSL this isn't surprising.
They are between a rock and a hard place. They don't have a product that justifies raising prices compared to the competition but they will be bankrupt eventually if they don't.
what is the status of the pension debt right now? After YR11 it was higher than ever which is one hell of a problem.
If you compare this with their main competitor Norwegian's loss, SAS actually did better in the historically weakest quarter of the year.
Norwegian lost 400 million in Q1, their revenue was 2,3B SEK, that's a loss of 17% of their revenue, while SAS lost 12% of their revenue
Still Norwegian only lost SEK 129 per passenger. There a historic difference between SAS Group and Norwegian: In Q1 SAS Group usually have 22.4% of its yearly passengers while Norwegian has only 19.5% of their passengers in Q1. There are many other differences, but I think this isn't the place for such a discussion.
