look for good reasons and advantages of rthe Ritz CC....never stayed at a Ritz before 50k is a good size bonus I just got the marriott 70k chase card. but the big payoff sometime is really when you get up to 150k or so and can afford your 5 days at the super nice resorts right? so is there a way to combine these 2 bonuses for a solid vacation? do Ritz points expire?
Ritz points are basically Marriott points. You can switch between the Marriott program and the Ritz program as often as you like, but can only have one account (in total) at a time. There appears to be no benefit of having either a Ritz account as opposed to a Marriott account - earn and burn rates are the same at all properties. The only difference I have heard is that having a Ritz account means you will likely only get Ritz promotions. So, things like MegaBonus may be different. YMMV, but likely they won't allow you to have both credit cards.
i dont care to much about promos, since i never can take advangtage. but i can cancel the mariott visa after my stay on memorial day weekend then apply for the RITZ card to get my points to 130k...bam. then get the wife to fiind the 70 k mariot bonus visa and take it to 200k....bam
Just don't forget about the $395 fee on the Ritz Carlton Reward Card "Enjoy all of your cardmember privileges with a $395 annual fee" (although you do get a, "$200 airline incidentals credit")
