That sounds like an awesome time!!!!! :)

I agree on the early time, especially as someone who is not a morning person  :p. But am looking forward to it - it will be fun. :)

I'll be staying at the Regency both nights. It's only a short stumble from and to the terminal, so even if you choose to stay at the GH you're still welcome to attend any after parties (which, undoubtedly, will ultimately end up being on both nights anyway) and then stumble back to the terminal, jump on the skythingiemewhatsit, and get off at the GH.

For shame... Two nights in the same hotel! A disgrace I say!

Yes, but two different reservations in different names :D

We both need our stay credits, after all... :p

Skytrain is airside. Landside there's a bus. There's a freeway between C and D but it should be possible to walk it on the service roads that run underneath if need be ;-)

I'd not worry about the early start time. From C to D or back is just a few minutes airside anyway and DFW has TSA-Pre at A, C and D terminals now.

Edit: AMEX PLAT here so I can cover +2 for AC

On a more practical note is the Sat itinerary now set in stone in case some of us want to book part of it?

I too will be able to guest someone in too with my AC membership. I'll likely get there early before the ORD flight arrives to warn them you're coming.

Ok, I see the reservations on hold on my AA account.
Also received the message from Wijomas/RB about phoning group AA.

In my reservation I have been allocated seating. Is this within the group or just computer randomized???
    What to do??

Tonight I will contact Suzanne for some special attention to my account ;)

Just some random data points from my calls to AA to ticket these flights,

I called the group desk number from Will's e-mail, selected the "give AA money" option (3, I think) and proceeded to wait on hold. While waiting, I thought to myself, "I'm a Diamond Guest", "I'm an EXP", I don't have to wait on hold! So I called the EXP # from another phone, they transferred me to group sales and the call was answered in about 15 seconds. Meanwhile, I was still on hold with my original call, which I disconnected at this point.

I was able to pay with gift cards, and the $25 ticketing fee was waived consistent with normal EXP benefits. You'll get a new PNR, I guess because of paying seperately. I tried to pay for everyone, but the reservations weren't listed by Milepoint handle. I didn't have a chance to check my conversations for your real names. Sorry.

Storyteller, I thought about the seating as well. I know many of us are hoping for the upgrades on eligible flights, so I'm guessing that the seating may be a bit of a moot point until the day of travel, but I'm sure Will will straignten us out on that once it's daytime in NZ again, which from what I can tell may happen sometime over the next three days. I'm still looking for a dual time zone watch featuring both normal time and Kiwi time.

Yes, it has been asked " what is Kiwi time?"....
And yes sometime in the next 3 days it should be daytime over there.

They're all a bit queer you understand, as well as speaking funny.

AA Group Desk answered rather quickly, but couldn't autoprice the ticket and had to queue it to rate desk...where it has been lingering ever since.

Would love to attend, but I'll be flying across the Pacific Ocean from Beijing that weekend =(

By the time daylight on the next day arrives, NZ is on the next again day. At this rate US will never catch up. :p

Also some seem to assume Mr Bingham is on kiwi time. Never a safe assumption, even when we think he is in NZ.

Interesting. Last year for the MegaDo as an EXP I had to pay the ticketing fee. Group desk couldn't waive it then.

In my case the group desk tried to charge the fee ("I'm just so used to it, I do it automatically; I didn't think we could waive that fee."), but when time came for the grand total, she told me that the fee was waived by the system and no override was needed.

For OWMD, I waited until my EXP status showed, then ticketed the international flights, and did not pay the service fee.

So y'all are sayin' American Airlines screwed me over? Me?? An American?

Ah well. As with all things AA, your milage will vary depending on who answers the phone.

I was expecting the fee, but it was not charged (I was PLT at the time and had not completed the EXP challenge yet).
