SMD4 Interest in Early Birds on Friday June 1st

With the Launch party on Sat June 2nd, there are likely several arriving the day before. We have a very social group in the DCA area and could organize a social event on Friday evening.

Please post if interested and indicate your arrival time.

I have made arrangements with Sports Pub to hold the high table area near the bar on the 3rd floor starting at 6:30pm on June 1st. Under group name - Milepoint. Note: There is another group reserved at the low table area.

Will make dinner decision then - either at the Sports Pub or other restaurant in the block with varying arrivals - I recommend staying the the Sports Pub for dinner since other may arrive late

No plane ticket yet, but I'm looking at a Friday afternoon arrival, although if I do this, I might not stay in the Hyatt that night. I'd probably be interested in doing something if the logistics were reasonable for me.

Obama is supposed to visit MN on June 1-2, so I'm anxiously watching for a schedule. I would prefer not to be stuck at the airport when it closes for his flight or caught trying to drive to the airport when the expressways are closed as they have been in the past.

Wish I can get in a day earlier, but won't be showing up till a few hours prior to the actual launch party. Have fun!

Sadly, while flying into DCA on June 2, I don't get in until 10 PM so will be unable to attend the launch party. If anyone wants to get together on Sunday June 3, I'm game for that though.

We can try a Sunday afternoon event - let's track interest for Sunday afternoon as well. I had thought of a brunch - but I suspect all the Diamonds will be getting their free breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Probably flying in June 1 evening. Neither air nor hotel booked yet for that night.

Just used 4,500 Avios for ORD-DCA, I'll be landing at 8PM on June 1st.

We will be Driving From Ocean Pines, Maryland (~3hrs). So if anything good is going to happen, we can arrive/leave all most anytime. But Silver Springer will most likely have us staying at a new hotel each night.

I am also driving in. Wasn't planning on coming down until Saturday, but if something fun materializes for Friday night, I could easily be persuaded to come down a day earlier. For that matter, I could probably be talked in to sticking around for a while on Sunday too.

Great - I am going over to the Sport Pub on Friday night to check out the space, happy hour, and menu. They have multiple floors - so the thought is to block some tables/space on the top floor.

I'll not be able to make this as I get in around 11:15pm on the Friday night, after a very very very long trip (MEL-SYD-DFW-DCA) and have a 6 hour layover in DFW. It's a long trip for some free gin, but someone's gotta do it

After a trip like that you deserve some Tanqueray 10 or Hendrick's. After the espresso of course.

Someone please ensure they have plenty available to me. I'm staying at the host hotel, so feel free to gift me a little at reception Friday afternoon as a welcome gift to my room.

I'm sure he took a large quotient of Gin from the OWMD that was destined for my row, so i'd like to get some back

That is why this launch party is held in a city with enough Gin for everyone, though Congress may complain that they don't have any for Monday

I think I remember a good bit of gin making it back to our row, despite the interference, but the details are pretty hazy.

My photos show otherwise. I think only around 2-3 bottles ended up making it back. I'm sure there were various 'taxes' on the way to the seat though
