Hi Everyone, as most of you know, United Mileage Plus and Continental OnePass will continue to operate separately until we until they’re combined in 2012. As a result, we’ve received requests from members to be able to transfer miles and combine Elite earnings between accounts. Today, we’re pleased to give you, our power-users, a sneak preview of our new self-service tools that do just that.

Specifically, you can:

Transfer redeemable miles between your OnePass and Mileage Plus accounts. Give it a spin at united.com/transfermymiles or continental.com/transfermymiles (both take you to the same place).

Match Elite status and combine Elite earnings for your OnePass and Mileage Plus accounts. For those of you who have Elite Qualification miles and segments/points in both OnePass and Mileage Plus, you can now combine these earnings to earn Elite status, Regional Upgrades and Systemwide Upgrades. Go to united.com/combinemyactivity or continental.com/combinemyactivity for all the details.
As usual, we’re grateful for the feedback and your patience during this prototype stage. Enjoy!

Sweet action!

Edit: Just moved miles from CO to UA, no issues at all. Very smooth. Thanks Scott and IT teams at CO/UA. :D

From the CO perspective, the best use of this would be the EK F awards. If you can find the seats.

Awesome, thanks for this! I'm soooo happy, as bringing my miles over from CO will push me to the award level I need. [IMG]

Denied. Apparently my accounts don't match, so says the error. [IMG]

Great tool. I just did a test transfer and it went off without a problem.

FWIW, I was using a MBP and Firefox 3.6.13. My names were not a total match (UA drops off my middle name), but this was not an issue. It does say that it can take 24h for a transfer, but I already see it in my UA account.

This is great! I just transferred my CO miles into my UA account. Worked perfectly (and quickly)! Thanks so much for letting us "test" this out!
Quick update: The CO miles were withdrawn from my CO account and the miles deposited into my UA account instantly.

Are your addresses the same? That is the information it displayed so I imagine name and address are what it is verifying against.

I get the following error:
ACCOUNTS NOT MATCHED:
There was a system error attempting to confirm your Mileage Plus credentials. Please try again later. (TR202)

Could not do the "status match". Same error as you noted.

Worked fine for my account, but not for my father's. I get a error message
ACCOUNTS NOT MATCHED:
The Mileage Plus and OnePass accounts do not match.

I just verified that both my Onepass and MP accounts do not have a middle initial, I thought maybe that was the problem

Same here. Names are the same on both accounts

The website timed out for me, but the transfer did occur. Thanks, Scott... I was just able to extend my UA miles are a little longer 'til I can travel again.

Worked for me after I changed my MileagePlus account address to match my OnePass Account.

It was my understanding that CO only allows Y and C redemptions, not F. Only UA lets you redeem F (at the much higher rates).

I couldn't move any miles because I only have 120 miles in my CO OP account and it has to be in 1,000 mile increments. :p

Cool feature, though. I guess this means I need to get more CO miles!

Just moved 1000 of my CO miles to UA.
Hope they let us move Lifetime Miles so I can be closer to 3MM on UA!

Just transferred 26k miles to UA! Very cool.

Now, I'm about to combine my elite balances, but it says I will have to choose a program to designate as my "primary account for upgrades for the year". The only reason I can think of to pick CO (instead of UA, my primary program) would be for their better SWUs, but didn't their 4x (anyfare) SWUs from last year become 6x (W-fare) SWUs for this program year? So I assume there's really no benefit to picking CO over UA unless I'll be on more CO metal international flights before they make SWUs usable on the other's metal. The same logic probably applies for regionals too...

This worked absolutely fine for me. Both accounts now linked for transfers/status.

As always, UAInsider, Well done!!!
