I wonder if this would count as activity as to not run into the risk of having the miles expire?

The mileage transfer was easy for me, though it did take quite a few attempts to do the status transfer.

This is great. Will definitely give this shot later. Thanks!

    Very nice.

    Thanks CO/UA, and Scott.

Thanks for the heads up Scott.

Is it now possible to upgrade a CO flight # operated by UA using CO or UA miles?

Are you continually getting an error? I get error SM502 every time I try to match accounts.

I was getting that error, and then I opened the page in a new window, re-entered the information, and it finally took.

Nice features and functionality for those that need it.

Since I only have CO Onepass (used to have a MP account a long long time ago with 0 miles in it), not something I'll need to use.

But, I like seeing these options it as it brings the merger of the programs closer to fruition.

Though it says on the "Combine Elite" screen.

    1. Match your elite status.
If you're currently an elite member of one program, we'll match your status in the other.
    2. Combine your elite activity to qualify for a higher elite status in both programs.
We'll add the 2010 elite status miles or segments (EQM or EQS) you earned in Mileage Plus to the Elite Qualification Miles or Points (EQM or EQP) you earned in OnePass. For example, if you had 20,000 OnePass EQM and 5,000 Mileage Plus EQM in 2010, we'll upgrade you to 2011 OnePass Silver Elite and Mileage Plus Premier®. Plus, we'll do the same with your 2011 elite activity. If your combined activity in 2011 qualifies you for a higher elite status, we'll upgrade you automatically in both programs.
Is is worthwhile to apply for a MP account just to do this -- i.e. to get "matched" status on UA?

I have at least two itineraries on UA in the next couple of months (booked on CO), I'd guess creating a MP account and matching status could help in the upgrade game.

I take it that they would only match Plat to Prem Exec (even though I had 156,000 EQMs on CO last year)?

    Thoughts?

Yes, it will. I'll be a 1K in 7-10 days for this precise reason.

I am picking UA for my SWU and Regional Upgrades because of the ability to use them on P.S. flights. CO's can't be used on the EWR-HNL service although I figure those differences will be worked out soon enough.

Nope. They are matching based on your 2010 Mileage Activity. See the chart below (which is buried in the T&Cs for the offer)....

I am still getting it :(. Tried a new window, different browser, etc. Keeps telling me it can't match up my accounts. The MP # has a leading 0, think it should be dropped?

Do your names and addresses match?

My middle initial appears to be missing from MP

Cool, does it take them 7-10 days to make the UA account match elite status?

Reason I ask I just created a new MP account and ran through the "combine" process and logged back into MP and it doesn't show any elite status or earnings.

    Thanks!

    Great news to hear.

I assuming this means for both flyers who have each a CO FF and UA FF accounts.

But what if you only have a CO FF account and no UA FF account. Does that mean I should sign up for a UA FF account? Or wait until my CO FF account becomes a UA FF account? [IMG]

I keep getting this error message:
    [IMG] ACCOUNTS NOT MATCHED:
The Mileage Plus and OnePass accounts do not appear to match. Have you updated your account information online? If you have done so and are still seeing this message, please contact the Mileage Plus Customer Service at 800-421-4655 or OnePass customer service at 800-554-5522. (TR502)

I signed up for a MP account (new account) and just did this combine. I'm not sure how long it will take to get my new "general" MP account to 1k status, but hopefully it will be quickly.

I have a UA itinerary to SEA later this month, and I'll gladly change my CO to UA account once I know my status is combined properly.

It will take 7-10 days to match the elite status. I was so excited about this, I forgot to read the notes after doing this.

That said, I'll get 1k status and now be allowed to use the Red Carpet :) LOL

Mine was also, but I did not have a problem with the account transfer or EQM merge.

This only makes a difference if you've not already earned 2010 SWUs and your combined UA and CO balances will bring y;)u over 100k.
