The Westin Puntacana Resort -- Opens late 2013. (9/2012 ETA: Delayed to Aug 2014.) "The 204-room Westin Puntacana will be located in the Playa Blanca area of the Puntacana Resort & Club, a 26-square-mile complex that includes Tortuga Bay resort, Six Senses Spa, the Puntacana Ecological Foundation, four residential communities, a marina, nine restaurants, a shopping village, 45 holes of golf and the Punta Cana Airport."

The 4P mentioned above is scheduled to open in Nov 2012.

(The Westin Roco-Ki is still shelved, AFAIK.)

The $37 million Westin Wilmington will be connected to the Chase Center on the Riverfront, which is the area's largest multi-purpose special event facility with 87,000-square-feet of space for meetings and conventions, trade and consumer shows, corporate and social functions and more. The Westin Wilmington will feature 180 rooms, a pool, a restaurant, meeting space, a law center and a fitness center among many other amenities.

Law center? Does this mean that the hotel has its own jail?

Hi. The former Crowne Plaza Silver Spring, now Sheraton, was in dire need of renovation. Was the renovation completed before it became a Sheraton or will it be ongoing?
I stay in the Silver Spring area so this is useful information.

My apologies, but I don't have any information regarding the extent or progress of any renovations, but one assumes that it will be up to Sheraton standards when it opens.

You can be proud if a hotel is not meeting brand standards and won't address the issues and SPG maintains integrity by terminating that property.

Yes, I suppose that is true, but it is still a failed business relationship and I see nothing to be proud about in that.

That is true. But when you don't own the property and don't manage or operate it, sometimes there is honor in maintaining your integrity. A good long-term relationship requires cooperation and performance on both sides.

Of course there is honor, but pride would not be the right word imo.

I hope the Westin Wilmington comes soon, as the Sheraton Suites there isn't really all that, though the staff is terrific.
