Question? Is the first page of this thread going to be updated by city? It's a nice resource.

I'm thinking about it. Perhaps a wiki page? This could become a lot for any one person to manage, but I think that the dialogue is just as important and helpful for some of the suggestions.

And the SR Atlanta is about a mile down the road. Sometimes, the prices aren't all that different, though I think that the Westin Buckhead tends to be less expensive than it used to be.

The St Regis isn't really walkable from the Westin or the W, especially with luggage, and there's no closer MARTA station either.

No, it's definitely not. However, the SR can give you a ride in their Bentley, if it's available. :)

I always have a car when I'm in Atlanta and can rarely use MARTA. The newest Ws are the only Atlanta SPG properties in which I've never stayed.

How close are the Sheraton PDX and the Aloft PDX? (I've stayed at the former but not the latter).

Great idea again. Categorising by maybe country or region might be a good idea too.

Calgary: Sheraton Cavalier and Four Points Calgary Airport are about three blocks from one another.

The distance isn't walkable. The Sheraton is right at the airport exit (but not connected to the terminal) while the aloft is one stop away from the airport on the light rail/trolley line that goes toward downtown.

However, these two properties share an airport shuttle, so that to get from one to the other, you wouldn't even ahve to go through the pretense of getting a ride to the airport and then waiting for the other hotel's shuttle service.

Thanks for the confirmartion - I think it was the shared shuttle that had me thinking that they were possibly adjacent to each other.

The Element Arundel Mills and the Aloft Arundel Mills just outside of the Baltimore airport are connected to each other and can be had for low rates. They are connected by a courtyard/pool area.

Didn't see these posted yet -- my apologies if they have been...

Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga, CA -- There is a Sheraton, 4 Points and Aloft all within about 2 miles of one another. These properties are routinely priced below $100 on weekends.

In Vancouver, the Sheraton Wall Centre and the Westin Grand are near to each other. Perhaps a 10 minute walk between the properties. The Westin Bayshore is further away but walkable (about a 20 - 25 minute walk, 5-10 min drive)

Shanghai China - Shanghai Pudong and the 4 Points Pudong, they are right BESIDE each other and they share the same piece of property. Super convient location infront of the subway line.

Sheraton and Westin BWI - share a parking lot. There is an Aloft 1.8 miles from these hotels.

It's been mentioned before, but just to clarify/amplify since I'm headed home from SAN now...the Westin San Diego and the W are literally a block from each other. The Westin Gaslamp Quarter is five easily walkable blocks away from both.

ETA: And the U.S. Grant (luxury collection) is basically halfway in between the Westin Gaslamp and the Westin San Diego/W.

So that's four within five city blocks.
