    SQ 1/2 Will Change To A380 From 28 Dec 2012 - 24 March 2013

24 July 2012 - Singapore Airlines will be making network adjustments during the Northern Winter operating season (28 October 2012 - 30 March 2013), comprising capacity increases on several routes, reductions on others and seasonal aircraft changes.

The adjustments [1] are in line with efforts to redeploy capacity to markets where demand is stronger.
    ...
A daily Hong Kong flight which continues to San Francisco will be served with the A380 instead of the Boeing 777-300ER on a seasonal basis between 28 December 2012 and 24 March 2013. This will increase to two the number of Hong Kong flights served each day with the A380, while it will be the first time SIA will be operating the A380 to San Francisco.

At the same time, DL is cutting its DTW-HKG and VV nonstop on the 777 with BE flatbeds in 1-2-1 configuration.

Oops, press a wrong button. It should be 28 December 2012 to 24 March 2013. My apology. I don't know how to edit the title of the thread once posted. Sorry!

Anyone have experience with how long it takes AMEX points to transfer to Singapore points? I'd love to snag one of these but I'm afraid they will update the systems to load in the correct plane before I can book.
  2. Gabed1 Silver Member

Yep, usually takes about 2 days. If its your first transfer with them, maybe 3 days

boo. Looks like I'll have to bow out on this one. Hopefully they decide to keep this configuration moving forward though.

I'm still seeing inventory on the 777-300s...I should have started a transfer from AMEX yesterday!

I'm flying with my fiance to be in SQ1 F next week. I wish SQ would make our flight as a test flight before the winter schedule.

SQ1/2 upgraded to 380 while CX873/872 has already been downgraded from a 744 to a 77W. ;) Good opportunity for SQ to pick up the extra seats from CX's down gauge.

now that it only cost 70125 miles one way from SFO-HKG in suite class to transfer from Amex, this is a great award to aspire to!
  8. merice107 Silver Member

Ever since these Amex offers, I have been dreaming/drooling over the possibility of flying in a380 suite class SFO-HKG.

What is the probability of snagging two suite class seats on that route? I would love to fly it but unless I get two seats (my wife will be joining me), then it really is out of the question.

1 saver award, 1 full (double miles) award

West Coast to Hong Kong: Saver is 82500. Standard is 160000. Full is 517000.

So two suite class tickets from KrisFlyer would cost 599500 (82500+517000)? Or would it be 242500 (82500+160000)?

*This is all assuming I could even find award availability.

I've certainly seen availability at the Saver and Standard price, my writing full was a mistake too early in the morning.
