freddieawards.com (and thanks to the Freddie Awards Milepoint will be giving away an iPad-A-Week giveaway for all Milepoint members to be eligible to win over the 6 week voting period. AND, it will be the new iPad3!
If you allowed for multiple likes, that last part would have me still clicking on the “like” button! I, too, was wondering how you’d know I voted, but the paranoid side of me knew that there’s always a way to find out who’s doing what online.
There is a page with sponsor logos at the end of voting, and milepoint link takes you to a page with iPad announcement encouraging people to sign up. Though there was no login link for current members... there are always cookies to keep tack of our activities.
Well, there was an option at the end of voting to enter your email address (followed by entering a captcha code). So assuming you used the same email address for voting as you do on MilePoint, that's theoretically one way that your vote could be linked to your handle.
No, I opted out of that one, but I did go to the Register for the offer page, clicked on it, but it took me straight away to the Milepont all-forums page, without my doing anything. Presume I’m registered because I was logged into MP at the time.
Actually, if you factor in all the prior iPads Milepoint has given away, the odds are even more extraordinary. I think at last count if we were to include these 6 — Milepoint has helped frequent flyers to 42 total iPads in less than the last year. The deal is, you all help one another with exchanging your travel knowledge and we'll keep trying to help you win an iPad and other things as well.
Yes, we're all about helping many. In fact, for those of you on FlyerTalk, please consider getting your vote in on the FlyerTalk Awards which ends tomorrow. The Freddies started the idea of giving voice to the frequent flyer, FlyerTalk supported that voice, Milepoint continues to support it and now the FlyerTalk Awards does as well. Vote now.
Randy, it's so nice that you stay above the fray and are willing to mention the FT awards in the spirit of creating openness and helpfulness among all travelers. It's too bad that FT does not feel the same and has suspended the Freddies discussion thread. Such stifling and petty actions taken by FT. I cannot tell you what a pleasure and a relief it is to have an alternative in MilePoint! Thanks for your ongoing generosity and all of your hard work!
