Guys and Girls, In a couple of weeks I'll be doing my first rental with National. I was recently matched to Executive Elite, and haven't yet received the membership card (they told me it'll take 6-8 weeks to arrive to me in New Zealand). From what I've read, you need your card for the guy at the exit booth when picking a car from Executive Selection. Does anyone know if say, a printout showing my status would suffice instead? Cheers!
I've never needed to present my membership credentials at National. As long as your status is indicated on your account and attached to your reservation, you're good to go. All they need at the gate is your driver's license.
I can also attest that the actual plastic card is pretty useless and unnecessary. You just present your license and credit card at the airport exit booth. They can find your status on the computer but I've never even been verbally asked since the inception of the program many years ago...
I have never had to show a card. Make sure your correct status shows on your accunt and you will be fine. All you have to do is show your DL.
Was a long time ago, and since then I've done a bunch of rentals with National (and retained my status for another year). My NZ drivers licence and credit card were manually added (since by default they only take US ones), and have never had an issue renting and just showing my kiwi DL. In fact, I don't even know where my ExecElite card is.....
