With a NEW site and new look. I know it is beta and there are important things. I just notice little details. In the Airline program section. Is there a way to have the Delta Air lines logo/icon to change to the new current logo that Delta uses and not the old blue and red logo. Since Delta has re-brand its image with the two shade red logo. I understand people like the old logo. But it makes the logo and site a little dated. Thanks.
If you click on the time underneath the handle (far right) in the index page it should take you there.
Multi-quote. Please. VERY useful for keeping clutter down, especially for the know-it-all folks who like to reply a lot. Not that I know anyone like that.
Hi Wandering - great to see you here. You can select "Reply" on multiple threads and it will pre-load them as quotes into your post entry box. Takes a little getting used to, but so far I've found it pretty easy to get the hang of. Of course, we don't have any 50-page threads yet, so there still might be some kinks to work out.
Got it...yeah, it works, but with the site jumping around as posts are tagged for reply I can see that getting a bit strange/frustrating to use. I'm sure I'll learn, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Ditto for the new United logo. The one on display is 2 generations old (the current one is the old CO logo).
Nice to see that some things actually fit in the overhead bins! Back on topic - very disappointed not to see Randy's profile pic as an emoticon...Great job so far, guys!
Is there a smilies icon with a eye mask? I am thinking of the eye mask people use when traveling overseas or on a redeye. Or a smilies with 'Zzz'? And to be added to 'Smilies' feature.
Thanks, I was wondering what custom smileys we need. I just couldn't think of it. For now we just have the basic generic smileys available. We will be increasing those. Maybe your post will get others to suggest some more.
I would like an option on when to receive the email notifications on when there's a new post on threads I follow - as soon as, daily, etc. Perhaps a push I can designate like "check every 3 hours"?
Would love an option where you receive an email if someone has mentionned you. For example, if in a forum I never go to someone writes: "you should ask TheBilou", I'd like to be warned. Maybe use @handle or handle to differentiate handles from common terms?
I like it. And how about highlighting only part of a post then clicking reply quotes only that part? As in Mail software...
I suggest subtitles under the name of each forum, explaining what each forum is about. Newbies need direction, and even oldies need direction about things like "ConcourseZ". It's not self-explanatory to everyone.
AMEN! I think the largest segment of my FT friends were BB users and we always lag so far behind in the app market. That being said, a mobile-friendly version of the site in the general would be AWESOME. Since so many of us spend lots of time in transit...
If you leave your mouse over the title of a forum (before clicking on it) a text will appear with said explanation. I like it, there's less clutter. Also, can we display more than 25 (or however many) posts per page?
vlaid point and we'll be working on that this weekend. we got the front end done with that but just ran out of time. we had the unfortunate problem earlier in the week of having one of our two T1s in house go down we were hindered a bit for our typical speed in finishing many many of these housekeeping item. I love the challenge and please keep these sort of details coming—that's how we build better.
Is there a reason why some members with 25 points are original members, and others with also 25 just members? Was there a limited number of "original" allotted?
Thank you, that works – on my Mac. Because it still has an old-fashioned mouse pointer. However, not on any tablet, iPhone, iPad etc – which is the future. So, I guess "traditional" explanations do make sense. This is also an important factor to consider for the rest of the forum. Relying on "mouse over" to explain almost everything (content and functions) basically means ignoring the growing number of tablet and iPad users, devices that are particularly popular with frequent travelers.
We have created a unique algorithm that measures a number of different things. We obviously do not focus just on post count. Anyway, i think you'll find that as you contribute over our Beta month, these things will even out but we do not have a certain number of "original". We have no aspirations that a number of our members will "break the code" but if we think they might be getting close to figuring it out ... it may be dynamic based on board growth. I'm just saying ... Good question and i just knew it was coming. Welcome and we are so very lucky to have you here.
That makes sense! Don't worry, not complaining, just curious... And as a former engineer, I always love a good algorithm!
