Hello all, I'm taking a trip up to mile high to see the broncos play at the end of this month. I'll be spending 4 nights(1 in Colorado springs) and am looking for suggestions on things to do while I'm there. Friday - garden of the gods and 7 falls (Colorado springs) Saturday - ? Sunday - Broncos vs. Texans game! Monday - ? things I am considering so far: rocky mountain national park, pikes peak, Royal gorge, coors tour, and panorama point Any suggestions on things I didn't mention?
US Mint tour is intresting if your into that kind of thing. Closed on wkends and reservations are required. Coors Brewing tour in Golden about 30 min. west of Denver. Golden itself is also a pretty neat town to kill a couple of hrs in. I've heard Pikes Peak is beautiful. Its not a public (gov't) operated park so there is an admission charge or toll fee of some kind.
How was your trip? we enjoyed it yes yes yes!! I had always heard about Red Rocks but the schedule never worked out w/my travel, but one time we were fortunate it did, Mrs Sweet Willie & I caught James Taylor on a warm summer night, moon rose during the show from behind the stage. Amazing time. Is the Molly Brown house worthwhile? We very much enjoyed the BBQ at Yazoo: www.yazoobbq.com
It was great, thanks for asking. The only thing that could have been better would have been a Broncos win!!! Ended up doing pikes peak and lots of shopping on Saturday for Broncos gear I can't get at home. Spent the whole day at Rocky Mountain national park on the last day.
worthwhile? is it a drive only or hiking? very cool, the elks call is not majestic (nor is the bald eagles)
We did the train ride up to the top of pikes peak. We figured that would be a nice little ride since we had done all the trails the day before and still had a day of hiking/driving ahead with Rocky Mountain national park
