Booked a GPT trip. First time in the area, should be fun.

One of my summer goals is to reserve a sleeper compartment for a few days of riding; wishing AS still had the 20,000 mile award where one could get a sleeper compartment on Amtrak one-way with an AS one-way Y ticket.

The only black spots I know of are: close to the intersection of 85 & 280 and on the extreme west side of the Stanford campus along Junipero Serra, heading out to Alpine Road & 280.

Which probably tells you way more than you wanted to know about my daily Silicon Valley commute.

You're totally right, though - for some kids, the college process is the first time they've EVER been told "no" in their life. It's much more humane to have had lower-stakes experience with rejection and disappointment at an earlier stage...

And it's amazing to see how easy and obvious the idea of "you're good, but there isn't a part for you in this show/it just didn't fit right...but that doesn't mean you're not talented or capable" seems to me now, but how hard that was to wrap my mind around when I was the same age as these kids! That's one of the most important lessons that I think they can learn - and it can be relevant to situations outside the theatre, as well.

I would say that teh merger is a failure except I had an E+ row all to myself.... So, I'm okay with it.

The DC temp attorney project I was assigned to was supposed to last 5 weeks, ended tonight after 8 days. The merger really IS a failure.

I liked GPT a lot, but I actually liked MOB several orders of magnitude more.
