GA called for a Shares Continental agent to help with a small oversell.

Can you still buy tickets at the Box Office? Is this theater in Manhattan? If so, I am in Manhattan tomorrow, and could probably run up to the theater and get you tickets.

and, failing that, just get them to run to Walgreens to get the parts necessary to build you your own helicopter so you can have a private ride...:D

fwiw, Craigslist usually has last minute tickets that are decently priced. While, I prefer to buy tix from a real person I have also benefited from brokers doing a last minute ticket dump. Got some great deals and they often provide delivery. :D

One of my favorite concert venues. I don't patronize scalpers...they piss me off. Worst case I use a friend who is a broker and his deals last minute are good.

I got Chicago Bulls tickets for $20 each delivered, and by delivered I mean "waiting for the driver at the cta station so I could make the tip with about 20 minutes to spare".

Not to mention that hot tickets make it worthwhile for a counterfeiter whose cousin Vinnie has a print shop in Queens.

Actually, I'm very surprised that UA didn't reroute people back through SEA - looks like on Monday the 19th, both SEA-ANC flights went out half empty. Depending on when the first bird diverted, the second bird was due in, and the second bird went MX, there was almost certainly plenty of time to get a whole bunch of folks down to SEA and then from there on to any one of LAX, SFO, ORD, or EWR (or even YVR or TPE on OAL) to connect to another PVG flight.

Thank you that's so kind of you. I just ordered them on stubhub. Sold out for the Sunday night show on ticketmaster and at the box office. $177 each for 2 tickets on the aisle Orchestra 1 Row C!!! Considering Rows A and B are in the 1500+ range I'd say it's a win. :D

I love how in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18237154-post3724.html he says he hadn't seen the FAQ before, and now he's going to try to use it as the basis for why he continued flying on UA.

I'm not sure that a 763 can make PVG, plus I don't think UA operates any 763s in Asia, so they likely don't have mechanics, spares, etc. So probably only 772 or 744 were candidates for replacement aircraft.

Maybe they are somewhat short of 772's at the moment, due to the lie-flat conversion process ongoing.

I agree that the delay seems rather extreme, and it seems like they should have been able to react faster. Don't know if there curfews or slot restrictions at PVG that could have come into play.

It's always something. There's a valve that controls part of the water system at a junction point. It's about 18 down, and accessible for turning on/off via a 4-inch pipe that runs about a foot up above ground. This morning, there's water running out over the top of that access pipe. Not a geyser, but steady. I just turned the valve off, and now waiting to see if that stops the water flow (bad valve) or not (pipe break).

Either way, a pain in the butt.

So over the past 6 months I have entertained and terrified the box with stories of my crazy landlord.

Well here is one more before my lease ends in a week.

I call this "operation Dr. Pepper"

Keegan, LOVES diet Dr. Pepper and he is very protective of it. He hides it in his room to keep people from drinking it. On a separate and unrelated note, Keegan also video tapes his bedroom at all time. He has a motion activated camera setup in his closet and pointed at his bed. (I hope he tells his 18 year old boy-toys about that!) Well in front of that is his extra large pile of diet Dr. P.

So here is operation Dr. Pepper.

Last night I purchased from wally world one twelve pack of Diet Dr. Pepper. The cans are substantially similar to his. This morning I smuggled one of my cans into his bedroom and in front of his camera, I faked removing one of the cans. I produced my own can for the camera and left.

I drank the can and left the empty can on the kitchen island right were he will see it when he comes home.

The passive aggressive rage that will fill him when he sees that can KNOWING that I dared to enter his bedroom and blatantly steal one of his precious (think Golum lord of the rings) Dr. Pepper cans warms the cockles of my heart. When I get home tonight, I am just going to deny everything.

    Much hilarity will ensue.

It's on Broadway in Manhattan. The shows have been sold out for quite s:cool:me time. There was a line last night that I believe was for people hoping to get the few tix that always get released at the last minute. I have no idea how successful any of those people were.

That's actually n;)t a bad price. I had row K on the side and we bought them directly from the box office for $100/ea + fees.

Excellent re-route idea. ANC-SEA-NRT-PVG. Think of the miles. Plus maybe get ORC for the cancelled SFO-PVG?
