Finally, managed to get a CSR to solve my upgrade woes on the upcoming CLT-PHX MR. Until I had called, I had lost 1 GPU, 1 RPU, and no upgrade/waitlist. She patiently listened to the history of the itinerary, coordinated with the Mileage Plus Desk to get my upgrades back, reset the itinerary to a normal state, and applied the RPU to the EWR-HNL leg. She was also the only one to understand the new upgrade policy on that EWR-HNL flight.

Took 60 minutes on a Sunday night, but she was amazing. Sent an email to 1kvoice w/ my compliments. Now fingers crossed re upgrade on that flight!

Did you see the IE complaining about 1K but no certificates on the MM thread? New member, first post, perfect chumming of the water. And, AFAIK, the IE's are far less than that; something like three thousand a few years ago.

Sounds about how long it took to get my res sorted out.

Is there any easy way to determine on SPG's website how long one haz had Platinum status? Am trying to figure out how many moar years I need for lifetime Plat. Website says I haz had elite for 7 years, but doesn't break that down between Gold/Plat.

I'm beginning to wonder if colpuck and ALCO are from Texas with all this small car talk.

EDIT: By the way, the handling of it was interesting this year. In the 1K booklet, there was only one mention ("you have been awarded complementary 1K for life") on page 4, which evidently was the personalized page for everyone. No other mention, no other difference. Standard card.

In past years, CO had even gone so far as having a special infinity-sign logo embossed on the cards. I'll bet there are so few that a special run no longer makes any sense (if it ever did).

I don't see any good reason to spend a sizable percentage of my income on something like gas. Savings there mean moar flights.
