Ciao, Box from the BA lounge at MXP. The hotel honored the rate I booked at, which was a win, but there were about 10 Euros of charges I could've disputed that I let go under the circumstances. Besides, more points!

Had a quick breakfast there, then took metro to Central Station for the Malpensa Express. All quite easy. Arrived here in plenty of time to check in, especially as the AA flight is delayed by 45 minutes. So, more lounge time. No hot offerings, but a nice selection of sandwiches, cereals, beer and booze. Wifi requires registration by passport where they take your name and passport # in order to get username and password! That's also a first for me at an airport lounge. Have about an hour before they start boarding. A few flicks I haven't seen will fill part of the time in the air. And a touch of sleep. Sorry to be leaving today: Inter plays AC Milan tonight, and it would've been fun to be in town for that. Not at the stadium, though: supposed to pour rain.

From IAH, yes...however, I don't have that many UA flights left this year - will re-q for 1k in July and now have an AAlternate for the remainder of 2012 - so I figured I would burn it now.

Strange modernistic hotel with more wasted floor space than any other hotel around. I liked it and the brekkie spread in teh lounge there is awesome...big hotel for such an undeserved airport, though.

Its going to be tough to requal for 1K...so, I dont see myself using the benefits of EXPlAAt this year.

Good morning box. My DTW flight were changed so I was able to cancel it without penalty. . I will be flying AAnother airline that day. This is a change I like. I only had to wait 2 minutes for an agent (non elite line) so clearly the merger is a failure.

It ain't fantasy, it's been the MO of every major US airline's FFP, including American, United, and US Airways for that matter. Under the right circumstances, and with the request in front of the right people, all the BS limitations on match/challenges promptly go up in smoke because The Almighty Dollar is, well, quite persuasive.

Does anyone remember the last date before which we need to fly 4 roundtrips to get beaucoup RDM's?

I thought it was June 30th....but couldnt remember. I only have 2 roundtrips booked until June 30th

I believe the promo counts flights through July.

Off to the gym, then attending a Unitarian Universalist service with a friend who invited me to DC's famed All Souls, Unitarian Church, followed by a yummy DC brunch at 19th Bar with unlimited mimosas.

Golfingboy & I stayed at the Sheraton MXP once on that MIA-MXP $233 fare and have to agree with you although the SPG Room Service policy worked out in our favor once.

I just want to us this opportunity to note that I am still tired of all of the motherf#cking snack plates on these motherf#cking planes.

While I can't say that I love Hyatt Place, I think they are much nicer than Fairfield Inns, and somewhat better than Hampton's. I put them more on a par with Aloft. HP rooms are pretty efficiently laid out. But I don't like the air conditioner by the bed with the thermostat by the door.
