So, that one piece of data would be critical. If MCC was on a Y or B fare, and you were on something lower than his fare class, then he should have been ahead of you. However, odds are that wasn't the case, and if he wasn't on a Y or B fare, then you definitely shouldn't have been skipped over.

I don't blame you for being upset in this situation. I've missed some upgrades that I was honestly surprised I missed, and had no information as to what happened. You've got quite a bit of information here, much of it pointing toward something not working the way it is supposed to.

I'd also be upset with the lack of response. The slow response time really is a problem, and I've got several outstanding, non-critical, issues I've been putting off contacting them about simply because I don't expect them to deal with these issues anytime soon.

I do hope that UA is paying attention, because there are a lot of us who've been patient, but patience eventually wears thin. I know there are some issues that I'm reaching that point with myself.

It would depend on when the JN/PN buckets opened, as those come out of a different inventory than CPU.

Upon suggestion from Wandering Aramean, I just checked out Scott O'Leary's Flight Memory.

    I am speechless...

And you believe that it would be shut for days, including the entire 23 1/2 hours before boarding?

If you get put on standby by a GA and they rebook you in Y, wouldn't that clear the upgrade when they clear the standby? YBM-ups are supposed to be cleared first reguardless of status right?

Not at all, I think you experienced some foolishness. I was just sayin. :)

Yes, I don’t have that info. If someone from UA reaches out, I’ll be happy to supply the particulars of flight, day and time, and which seat MCC was given. If that UA person then tells me that the computer properly followed the rules, I’ll believe that person. For the moment though, and having experienced the computer giving the wrong info to the desk agent right before boarding, my RPU thing on the PS flight (and I had to argue with UA about getting it back into my account), I won’t believe the computer’s doing things properly given what I was told.

Except that it wasn’t the GA’s who put me on standby, it was UA’s computer that did it. I don’t know how the GA’s changed my listing from #2 to #1. If you’re suggesting that the GA’s could’ve changed my fare basis to Y from the lower level that it was, I didn’t get into that with them. The upgrade to MCC had already happened and he’d already boarded, despite the revised listing. I’d almost missed my PS flight arguing about my unused RPU, and didn’t want to have that happen here. Besides, as opposed to the GA who handled that PS flight and was remarkably cold and unresponsive, these GA’s were apologetic and polite at all times.

Got ya.:) Don’t blame you for trying to see it another way.

As I wrote, if someone from UA wants the details to investigate this and then informs me that it was Kosher, I will believe that, and rue my luck that flight. And I'll go back to believing that there are actually 18 people who are GS and/or 1K‘s at higher ticket price points than I the next time I fly out of LGA on something other than an ERJ and am #19 on the standby upgrade list.

So apparently IAH-YYZ-YHZ-LHR is one of the options for the fare sale to LHR.

If I can find IAH-YYZ-YYT-LHR availability I may just do it to get the A319 across the pond.

Being ultra busy can I get a recap or pointed in the direction of all of this LHR talk?

Thank you very much. Well, apparently the wiring in my home is not up to code and he said that the entire breaker is faulty and that there are wires that have just been spliced and overloading the breaker box. (I discovered several outlets not working) He told me that I am at risk for a fire. He went into the attic (which I admit I have never ventured up into) and there were wires up there that were just cut and left hanging. So, I am having him change out whatever needs to be changed and be sure that my home is in compliance. It's going to be a very long night and sadly hard on my wallet. I did ask him to go ahead and check out my mom's house too, since she is across the street. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry and the company seems to be reputable. So, on the positive side... we are getting a discount and now both our homes will be under a 3 year maintenance plan with them.

Gonna try tomorrow morning to SDC EWR-BOS to EWR-PHL-IAD-CLE/ORD-BOS on Friday. Availability in F on all mainline segments looks decent.

Yup! I have been disappointed with the lack of response to emails sent to Shannon. I have an outstanding issue that I sent her an email about in mid March and did to get any response, not even
a..."things are crazy, we'll get back to you when we can ..." response. very disappointing.

    I
I'm with you! I have been astounded to see myself in the 20's or 30's on the standby upgrade list, being a 1K.

I'm liking the concept of the routing but "A319 across the pond" also being a red-eye just seems viscerally wrong.

Howdy Box! Been busy the last three days with mom and my aunt visiting me :)

Now, I am working on trying to buy some Facebook stock at the IPO price via securities underwriting... No way in heck I am going to purchase it at the market price on Friday... I won't be able to get many, but I'll settle for "sloppy seconds" after the big funds and wealthy individuals and get whatever shares I can get. Then sell it in less than a few months. Hope it works out!

I contacted her, in desperation, in late February after the OnePass Service Center had not been able to resolve my missing flight issue that was causing me to incorrectly drop from 1K to Platinum. She replied quickly then, and promised to get back to me in about 10 days, but three weeks went by with no response. I contacted her again and she promised to get back in touch ASAP with resolution. I never heard anything back, but about two days later four of the five flights appeared, which was enough to correct my status. Not a word from anyone about it. But, it still happened. I don't know if she got them to finally deal with my request, or if the MileagePlus Service Center finally got around to the requests I'd sent in November about it. Regardless, I would have appreciated some follow-up. I know they're crazy busy, but at some point, crazy busy has to stop being an excuse, and you've got to face the fact that you're overwhelmed and take action to stop being overwhelmed and start operating like you should.

Can't go wrong if one can get it at IPO price... Almost guaranteed 20-30% return. Some bullish investors thinks it will break $100 by years end, I disagree. I think it will go up to $60 and then start sagging down to $40. I am only interested in buying it at IPO price then set the strike point at $50. Beats leaving money in my savings earning only 2% interest.
