Maybe UA will auction off a seat on one of the maintenance shuttles. Maybe we could get a special charter rate for MPers on one of the maintenance shuttles. Or even do a triangle IAH-HOU-EFD-IAH although I've already got EFD-IAH

Good call on Phuket, if you need Hotel recommendations I'd recommend the Le Meriden however there's some decent boutique resorts there by Karon Beach away from the riff raff of Patong .

Yeah, I'll be around looking for recommendations once I get my intra-asia flights set up. May have a ton of SPG points letfover if SPG doesn't release award rooms for the Sheraton Four Points Munich Central for Oktoberfest (love this hotel because it is stumbling distance from the grounds).

So le Meriden in Phuket would be a possiblity. Never done Thailand. Also want to check oun SIN for the food for a night or two. Only SE Asia I have done is HKG a few times.

I somehow convinced three friends to book the mistake fare on the same flights, so it's looking like it'll be a fun trip around the world over ten days or so. Will have four of us in F on the KE A380. Planning on IAD-DOH-BKK-HKT//HKT-SIN//SIN-BKK//BKK-RGN-BKK-ICN-LAX//LAX-IAH-DCA. And it looks like work will be flying me DCA-DEN-DCA the following morning.
