Greetings from the Narita Express, somewhere between NRT and Shinjuku. By some miracle we survived the UA 747 in whY, though it did require a lot of moar.

...which was free. No drink certs burned!

Nope, just got into a fight with a supervisor at the HNL call center. First, she was wrong. She told me that I could not call prior to 24 hours of the new flight I wanted. My read which is the correct one is calling 24 hours from original and then any flight within 24 hours of the original. She is wrong there. Next, she told me you cannot SDC off of US metal. I pointed out the website rules and she said it was wrong there and/or unclear.:(

Condolences from one who has received "that call" a number of times. It is not a good moment.

Just organized and cleaned out my TripIt. I had TripIt set to auto-import from my primary email account, which meant that any itineraries forwarded to me by friends were littering my TripIt (there were some days I'd get half a dozen or more texts about departure delays or possible misconnects and I had to do a double-take and make sure I wasn't supposed to be somewhere). One "trip" on file there had 250 different items (flights, car rentals, hotels, etc.) and stretched 331 days from March through February of next year. Apparently I was going to six continents and 30 cities.

It's now set to auto-import only from my bulk email account, which is the address on file with all of my loyalty programs anyway, and since no one else uses or knows that address, it should work to just keep up on my itineraries. :)

I flew forward facing. And i realize what you are saying now. Well, I am sure there will be another occasion.

The upper deck was nice. Except for the little baby who cried every hour on the dot...for like 5 minutes. I felt bad for the parents. They were completely involved with the kid, and instantly tried to calm the baby down. They had a 5 year old, who was totally quiet as he was busy watching the cartoons!

Service from the two F.A's was incredible!! The crew was HKG based. I was floored by the level of care. (one Asian female and one white male). I thanked them profusely. They did not let any water glass sit empty even for a few minutes!!

I felt that the UA new-C seats are narrower compared to the pmCO BF on 772s. I love the 772 seats and sleep well on them....not so much on these pmUA seats. Oh well, It was a great experience! My first 744 upper deck ride!

I think the size and layout of the upper deck instantly makes the service more personal and gracious. I've always felt I got good service up there even when the FAs are somewhat indifferent. Somehow it feels smaller and maybe it is just easier for the two FAs to see everyone's needs. (of course the LH upper deck, with only 8 seats now and still 2 FAs is unbelievable)
