Plus airshow. And I'm a big enough geek to find the map totally cool. Extra cool if Ch. 9 is on.
Yep. Airshow and Channel 9 make a great combination.
I stand (actually, sit) in awe.
Booked for :rollpuck: Do in September. Thankfully UA saw the light and lowered fares to a very reasonable $250 round trip, which I did half revenue and half award as cash flow is, as always, a concern. Plus I got one of those fun routings for new EQLs on the way back, LAS-SFO-IAH-AUS.
ok, in that case I'll likely keep EWR-TLV in C & hope to add on the remaining return segments back to OGG as a r/t so I can have the months long NYC stopover at 120K.
if I have to end up booking the return as a one way TLV-NYC-OGG 60K award is there anyway to add that months long stopover in NYC?
iirc, there's some award option to spend some extra miles (10K maybe?) to add a stopover between the continental US & Hawaii.
Would that apply to a Middle East => Hawaii oneway award or is that just on to wholly US awards?
pretty much the same sitch in Jerusalem.
afaik, there's only a Crowne Plaza that doesn't seem to be well regarded & maybe a Ramada.
If anyone has a reasonably priced (if anything in late August can be?) hotel recommendation in Jerusalem, i'd appreciate it.
After the update, that's still double what I have
To me, being thousands of miles away from a HA gateway city, is in HH. Especially since I value hotel points more than airline miles in certain situations, and airline miles are much easier for me to come by than hotel points...I vote for the conversion to HH....especially if used at a major property with high rack rates.
Of course, value is in the eye of the beholder.
Why even bother having the chat? 14 questions over the course of an hour, paraphrased:
wish more of the substantive questions had been asked, and wish any of the questions had actually been answered...
UA is having a TON of good MR's lately and AA has Jack...wtf?
I would think that bAAnkruptcy would bring a need for moar passengers. Of course...what does that say about UA right now?
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but depending on availability, you should be able to book that entire trip as a RT from NYC with an open jaw in europe, and a stopover in NYC at the end en route to OGG. Should run 7500-12500 extra in J.
Ex: NYC -TLV <open jaw> ZRH-NYC <stopover> NYC-OGG.
My only question would be if an open jaw is legal between two different regions (TLV--ZRH). At this point, the biggest concern would be availability.
A roundtrip would certainly be preferable & an OJ in Europe would certainly be a viable option.
However, if I were able to book the return (TLV)-ZRH-NYC<stopover>NYC-OGG as a 60K award or a even bit more, it would be worth it as I could keep & build off of one of my my existing awards (either ZRH-NYC or more likely NYC-OGG)
Where are said good MRs?
I nabbed the PHL-SMF deal ($180, 3cpm; should have been able to routable for 2.5cpm but wasn't able to get a route to price out before the deal died) a few weeks ago but haven't since seen anything else even close to that. I'm looking for more MRs around that price range, either starting from WAS/PHL/NYC or from elsewhere if enough miles can be gotten to make positioning costs (or a positioning award) worth it...
Coming into Zurich (from LUX), 10 minutes before landing.
I have only ever seen that kind of a view (such impressive cloud formations on top of such a rich forest-green landscape) in Germany and Switzerland. Been 11 years since I've been there, but I was instantly taken back. Stunning.
It is surprisingly warm, humid and stoarmy here in Switzerland.
I'm sure you're in Aytch Eee Double Hockey Sticks (that's Haitch Eee Double Hockey Sticks for Brit). Better either climb up the Matterhorn or find a cheap last-minute flight to ALF. Much more palatable there.
Coming across BC and Alaska today with the snow-capped mountains peeking above the clouds was awesome. As many times as I have come up here, I have never arrived in broad and sunny daylight as I did today and it was a revelation.
Yes! Sorry, ALCO, didn't mean to bring the warm from Dubai and the humidity from Hong Kong, but at least I didn't bring all of it.
Thanks. That sounds good (the casino)
Good morning box. A PWP
Especially since I'm sitting on just under 940k HH points
I've only stayed in a hostel once (they're just not for me) and it was in CPH because the lowest cost room was $300/night.
Also, few hotels there do double doubles.
