4 bad days? I usually avoid Hampton Inns but the breakfast is not a food fight. All my HP stays were at renovated properties. I could not even buy a beer at my last stay without going back to my room to get my ID and since my youngest is over 21 this is just stupid. I earn scads of points with Hilton + enough AA miles to get a free flight every couple of years. I really like Embassy Suites but Homewood Suites and full service Hilton properties are not far behind.

The renovated ones actually have a real shower, but a tub. THAT, my friend, is a rarity in that category of hotels.

I don't know what is sadder - the fact that one of my friends made 25 status updates on FB in five hours or the fact that I counted.

YMMV, I guess. I have had my share of bad stays at every brand in the world, but the difference has been that Hyatt usually throws enough points at me to make me forget whatever was wrong.

Ended up scratching MAD, and will just meet friends in DUB. Now adding Berlin, and may hit up Prague, Krakow, or somewhere else in that area after Oktoberfest.

Now on an award RT, flying DCA-IAH in Y on UA // IAH-YYZ-DUB in Y on UA and AC // TXL-FRA-IAD in J on LH (on the 748i ).

Sadly, there is currently no F or J saver availability on any possible routing that I could dream up for IAH-DUB. Will keep looking -- hopefully something opens up.

A US flight departed D2 at IAH? That one is weird.

I have had a couple of Hilton disasters but my room was immediately comped (and yes,there were staff reductions). There are a couple of hotel chains I will never set foot in again from experiences years ago. I have a higher standard for Hyatt and Hilton. I think except for the large TV all Hyatt places are not designed for 2 people sharing a room.

Some dude in F on my DCA-ORD flight was wearing a heavy winter coat, completely zipped up, heavy gloves, and a very warm looking knitted winter hat from before boarding, throughout the entire flight, and into the terminal at ORD. He was dressed appropriately for walking two miles in blowing snow in Minnesota in January for DC and Chicago in June.

Since UA canceled my flug to CLT tomorrow I'm in a bit of a sticky situation for getting down to ATL by 1430.

I think you have a good point here. Unless the two people are like married or something.
Its a weird room set-up..and two unrelated people will find it very awkward to share.

I feel so bad for you guys since I was hiking in the Rocky Mtns and in Denver just about a year ago. The beetle damage was so awful that I knew it was just a matter of time before Mother Nature fixed the imbalance.

I would've guessed EWR based on the wedding in the area and comments about NJ over the weekend, but the website is showing that UA 4135 is on time tomorrow. Ditto for the flight after that.
