Smart move. My first boss out of college ended up being my boss again 15 years into career. Glad my separation (grad school) was done with respect for the company and his department.

That's why I wrote semi-retirement which will be replaced by temporary retirement on the 15th:D. Just hope temporary is more temporary than mine:rolleyes:

I worked 88/90 days in my WARN period although I really did work from home a few days (was passing the baton to the UK so meetings often started by 7 am). Almost everyone else packed their bag and left the rest of us in the lurch the minute they were told. I always hoped that would give me a few bridges back but tidal waves are awfully destructive:(

NRT-SIN-MLE and return in C would be 60K united miles? Because of SQ blocking online, I can't get a quick answer. Don't see Maldives on the various award regions, but SQ does fly there.

(that's what NRT-SIN and return is)

I don't know the federal requirement but I get PreCheck with DL and do not provide my middle name.

Survey I took for AA this evening mentioned FT as a source of sharing information. You'd think with the chat sessions they have had on MP they would make it an option too.

Settled the Chicago Fairmont vs. Palmer House debate (with an added Sheraton thrown in for confusion).

    Base points + status points + Q3 promo = almost 40k points.

Husband asks where I wanted to go with said points, I said Maldives. I get his point: what's the real opportunity cost of not getting the points?

50k points at the Conrad gets you one night in a room that would otherwise sell for $2500/night (yes, USD). So it's an opportunity cost of 4/5 that, or $2000.

None of the other places come close to that side benefit.

The poster also has "CPA" in the username but does not understand the difference between cash flows and profit/net income ;)

I don't know if this matters, but I have no middle name (legally, on anything) and I've had the precheck beeps (sadly, not at precheck-enabled checkpoints).

I thought you had to pay for a special sea plane to get you to the Conrad in the Maldives and that was expensive. Black Cloud could chime in on this.

  5. desamo Gold Member

You do, but that's peanuts compared to the cost of getting TO Male.

Good point, but retargeting is very inexpensive.

Perhaps we're all interpretting the user name wrong. Because otherwise....well, let's not think ill of people on the interwebs.
