    Kalboz,
Which hotel provides the better location for first time visitors to Bangkok who have just three days to explore the city -- the W or the St. Regis?

    Thanks!

The St. Regis has a direct connection from its second floor to Ratchdamri BTS station (elevated monorail system) placing most of the city at your fingertips:
While you have to go through Sathorn Square to get to the W Hotel Bangkok from the Chong Nonsi BTS station:
Further, and although the Chong Nonsi area is nice and upcoming, the Ratchdamri/Ratchaprssong area where the St. Regis located is the heart of Bangkok with walking distance to the Erawan Shrine, major shopping, restaurants, and hotels, see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/6666748731

Opening 1st December 2012, a brand new all-suite 4 star serviced apartment in Bangkok. Located in Soi Nai Lert (between the expressway and N. Wireless - the Soi opposite Ruam Rudee), Arcadia Suites, Bangkok is just a few minutes’ walk from the BTS Phloen Chit Sky-train station, and is within easy reach of Wireless & Chidlom. It is also close to shopping centers Central Chidlom and All Seasons Place, with plenty of dining and entertainment spots nearby. It is also near to the American, British, Vietnamese, Japanese, Italy, Republic of Chile, The Czech Republic and Swiss embassies.

Arcadia Suites, Bangkok features 73 suites with the usual amenities, such as LCD TV’s, wireless internet, en suite bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchenette, making it a good place for both short and long stay guests. Additional facilities include a Resident lounge, gym and swimming pool.

in the booking web sides like sawadee ther is no way to find new Hotel.
Now I search again around sukhumvit.
I am surprised to get the same price and web side if try ether this arcadia suites or continent hotel.
Both show 2208 Baht per day.
I found only H-Residence new in Sathon as a far new alternative.

Great rates of THB 2,117 per night in a suite including many benefits, such as breakfast, WIFI, etc. And the locations isn't bad either. But you might want to consider a different option as Centara is opening a new property (Centra Central Station) on July 15th adjacent to Chinatown and Hualamphong train station: Centara opens new hotel in Bangkok location where culture, sights and fabulous food meet
