Had a minor panic attack when I logged onto the SMD4 thread awhile ago & saw everyone talking about signing up for seats TODAY! Not sure why the post about Coach signup was not on first page of thread, but finally found it & realized still had time to sign up on Monday for BIZ class. I've signed up for every email alert possible & received nada notification but I'm new to this "Mega Do" stuff & probably just don't get all the rules yet.

Hope it was mutually enjoyable!

It may be parsing points, but I think Tommy was asserting that emails were only going out to notify about the domestic charter seats being up for sale, while you had to pay attention to the thread to learn about the opening up of int’l seats.

After I read about 66 posts, figured that that part out (I'm sure there is a historical reason for this, so please excuse my MD newbie-ignorance) but I still don't get why they don't update Post #1 for important announcements.

And for those not paying attn to every post on the SMD4 MT, INTL BIZ class seat go on sale sometime Monday, as they still are waiting for a fare quote from LH. Oh, maybe 744 has an insight on this?

And the price for Int’l Biz seats will be no less than $3,000 (three thousand); final pricing will come sometime on Monday. Further, the flight to ZRH via FRA, will now depart from LAX, not IAD. This is due to availability of the 747-8 and where it’ll be flying from at that time of year.

As this is my year for doing MD's, I budgeted for INTL portion of the SMD in biz, but will be very happy if can score TC on the Domestic Charter! First time the SMD schedule is a time that I am free to attend + as I'm in CA, Intl starting from LAX reduces my positioning flight costs & Charter begins in SFO, my home airport!

SMD4 International booking in coach has opened and I see that some of the loungers are going in Y. I am still undecided.

Looks like Y has filled up quickly. 33/35 taken.

I have sent in for Y seating as 3 Grand+ is too far a stretch. Had it been even up to $2,500, I'd've made it work, but....

Tommy stated around $3k, probably it will be closer to $3.5K

He said not less than $3k, so that could mean $3075 also. Nevertheless, for me, the push beyond $2,500 was the killer. Just not prepared to make that additional reach.

It is indeed a bit pricier then I anticipated. It probably would be much cheaper departing from IAD.

Agree with you that making both flights trans-con's, rather than just the one, likely had that effect.
