Fall pot luck at a client's office today. Two turkeys with stuffing and gravy and everyone brings a dish. I'm bringing a Costco tray of sushi, and I understand there will also be: BBQ spaghetti, Mac & Cheese, Butternut Squash Gratin, Meatballs, Lumpia, Indian Black Eyed Peas, Rice and Peas, Steamed Chicken Buns, Candied Yams, Mom's Baked Beans, and salad. For dessert: spice cupcakes, pumpkin bread, oatmeal cookies, banana pudding, berry trifle, and three other undisclosed desserts.

How do, folks, from the Hilton LAX. Here because my redone flight from JFK came in late. The cancelled the rearlier one I was on proactively due to the winter storm that passed through. Still getting to use the RPU was nice on that PS flight!!!

In a little while, I'm heading to Long Beach to see some long-unseen friends, and to take in the Aquarium there. Then back on Saturday to the HIlton. There's some kind of anime convention about to get underway here, so should be quite a crew between them and the SMD4'ers.

The lounge is closed for renovation, so they're using a small convention room as the replacement. 4 tables only, and, a gatekeeper checking room number and occupants listed for that room. Some early anime'rs tried bringing in 7 or 8 people with them, and it just didn't fly.

All is well in Kansas! Pretty nice day, although we are supposed to get some strong thunderstorms this weekend.

No MR for me this weekend! Just relaxing with some friends, and writing some more of my trip report.

And a Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ that was quite good when we went to the Long Beach David Starr Jordan HS reunion a couple of years back.

As part of the honor, I'm making an advance trip organized by the International organization to Toronto this coming weekend. I've been assigned the Delta Chelsea hotel. Anyone know anything about it other than it is around 2km from the Air Canada Centre?

The Delta Chelsea is the largest hotel in Canada with 1591 rooms. It's a 4 Star property.

Of the Century Blvd. hotels, that Hilton is my favourite. I am not very fond of the Westin or the Radisson there, and although a very tired property, the Four Points there (just off Century) has always upgraded us, even with the SPG Preferred (not even Gold) status we had dropped to the last time we stayed.

My preference has been the Sheraton, which has always given me a suite. Next would be 4P, then Hilton. Tried Westin, but wasn't impressed.

Btw, forsook both BBQ and Roscoe's for Skyfall last night. Heading back to Hilton LAX in a little bit from Long Beach.

The Westin LAX is garbage. Horrible staff and old rooms. This hotel is thirsty for an upgrade.
