Alas, there is no "Love" button. I'm still trying to lose the "New" and would really like "Original".

Do you not also feel that we were there near ground zero when this place was born? Or at least that we did the little cross-stitch baby feet hung proudly above the crib?

As I believe I quipped long ago in another lounge far far away, I dislike being a Grasshopper as much as I dislike Locust Airlines...

Hi FS, notice that you are a global entry/nexus member, I just applied last Monday but haven't heard back from them, how long did it takes to process yours? Perhaps, we can start a thread to help other members on GE and Nexus?

I'm a Global Entry member, too!

Here's my timeline: applied= day 0, approved=day 6, went in for my interview=day 9. I happened to be traveling on day 9, so I went into my local Global Entry enrollment center @ BOS even though their next available interview date according to the website was 2 months away. A very nice Customs and Border Patrol officer welcomed me into his office and did my interview/fingerprints/training right on the spot.

I later got a new passport, so I needed to bring it into an Enrollment Center for them to scan my new passport and give me a new "CBP" sticker on the back. I strolled into the ORD center one day when I had a long layover there. Handed my passport to the gentleman at the desk, and he returned about 5 min later with my passport and my new shiny sticker. Overall, I was VERY impressed by the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency of the Global Entry enrollment process!

Thanks JY. That seems pretty quick. I applied for nexus because its a bit cheaper and also includes GE. The only draw back is I'll have to go to Seattle for the interview. I wished have applied for just GE now, by the time I added the cost for flying to SEA, it will be way more than it I had done GE only.

The reason I'm getting GE is because of the long line at ORD that caused me to miss my connection recently flying back from Europe. Over an hour waiting in line going through immigration when the GE line has no one.

I feel your pain.

Do remember to hand me some "leftovers" once you get there. Who says it's easy to be original?

For Global Entry, it took about eight days for me to get my Conditional Approval. I did my interview in MCO, the following week,

For NEXUS, it took about ten days for me to receive the Conditional Approval. Availability for the Canadian enrollment centers was sparse, but I was able to find a slot in YEG.

I've used Global Entry four times. I love the program ^ I usually get "Welcome home, Sir!" from the CBP officer guarding the exit.. Also makes it easier to do international mileage runs without getting 21 questions!

(My mom actually just got back to Taiwan last week, and my dad is heading back next week. Unfortunately, I'm not able to go back this February as ticket prices were just too expensive for me. )

Prices are very expensive for international tickets. I searched for some tickets to all European destinations that UA serves, and found nothing for less than $750 (W Fare)

IIRC, it was ORD-LHR r/t in April. It was for Friday-Sunday.

I didn't change any setting nor add-on on my Firefox but FT has been almost "unreadable" for me since I got online this morning at TPE. I had thought maybe all the IB folks are rushed to MilePoint so their posts on FT become unattended.
