and Tom, i understand the US hasn't colonized in the traditional sense, but influence of values, a much more subtle approach, viz selling capitalism to the ancient cultures of the east, nations that have existed for thousands of years v a few hundred, they don't take kindly to that and we get bombed, when i say we, i know you understand, it's the west, in NYC, London, Bali and wherever Western interests are, 911 was a security/policing issue, not a defense forces one in my view, cameras in London as a result of the IRA have helped a lot, and Scotland Yard came to help NYC post 911, if the borders and airplanes were guarded properly it would never had occurred, they had prior knowledge but dismissed it, i don't disagree the social unrest between the haves and the have nots in the East will emerge, not unlike in the West, but as you say they have a lot more protesters, like a billion, even in the West the fight over the distribution of wealth will get worse, America has to some degree controlled it with force, but the underlying unrest, the jails overcrowded, the long sentencing, death penalty, black and minority problems will only get worse as long as education and opportunity are perceived as elitist, the truth is, in America if you are wealthy you have a great life, if you are not you have a very bad life, very little social net for comfort, i wouldn't want to be poor in America, Canada yes,Norway yes, Sweden yes, Denmark yes, Australia yes, a lot of western euro countries yes.

what concerns me more is i can get real apple i phones new for $200 a piece from China, how does that stack?
