Good morning Horse and CRnumbers. Perfect day outside here so far, but the weather isn't predicted to hold.

The move is done --- yeah! We decided to go for it, and now just some tidying up and getting settled.
Wishing all a good weekend --- our heat wave will cool a bit early next week.

I panicked this AM as my computer had to recover out of bluescreen at startup. Seems all is okay now. Fingers crossed.

My running partner bailed on me...lame-o excuse...but I got in a good loop in his absence. No matter how bad it sometimes feels when running, it always feels good afterwards.

[Personal Venting]My father and his wife are potentially coming for a visit today. He has a bad habit of simply not turning up (despite saying he will). This has been a pattern since I was a kid. It's gotten to the point where I don't tell the kids he's potentially coming, lest they face the disappointment when he doesn't show (which is the majority of the instances). Unfortunately, this time, my son answered the phone when he called, and was told he is coming...so I'm pregnant with it this time. I enjoy having my dad visit periodically...he's a sociable and colorful guy...but his randomness with coming when he says brings back some not so good memories from my childhood. More importantly, the few times I was dumb enough to tell my kids he was coming and didn't pained me even more to see the disappointment in their faces. Hoping for the best...but expecting the worst.[/Personal Venting]

Sorry for your angst, NYB. The life lessons learned from our parents can be painful as well as wonderful. No doubt it's played a role in defining you as a parent. Here's good hopes for your day.

Hi cr - yes, helping family to move. We did it over several days which helped, but the heat wave timing was yikes! Ah well, all done, and the new place has nice a/c. Hope you are keeping cool and enjoy your weekend.
