I won't be able to join the SAS event, but I guess it's possible to join you all for the drinks etc at the 747 Hostel?
What about photography during the ARN tour? Will Swedavia and SAS allow carmeras on the tour? Since I work part time as a photographer, I can just see myself being stopped by security with too much gear...
This is something we'll have to run by SAS, but i wouldn't expect there would be a problem. We can probably get a joint permit from Swedavia, if something like that is needed.
What about storage for bags etc. while we are at the SAS event? For three days on the road I`d like to check one bag In the invitation mail SAS mentions a security check, so I guess anything that gets on a plane also gets in?
Quick reply, pretty much says bring your carry on through security and leave it in the SAS hangar: Det finnes oppbevaringsbokser under Sky City ("kjøpesenteret" mellom T5 og T2). Vi har ikke anledning til å lagre bagasje noe sted, men så lenge det ikke er problem å ta bagasjen gjennom security (samme screening som i for reisende), kan bagasjen bli med inn. Vi skal i hangaren så vi har massssssse plass
Just managed to get my hand on the one year anniversary 1,- NOK room at ParkInn OSL for 6-7 October! Anyone else at ParkInn or RadissonBlu at OSL that would like to meet up for a late night drink on the 6th?
When do you land Captainfire? I will be on SK027 which lands 07.45 in Terminal 4. Will proceed immediately to T5 Arrivals. When is the assembly?
I will be arriving already at 7am so will have some time at ARN before gathering. Might visit a Diners Club lounge for a bit for free wi-fi and snacks.
So you got the rate I found the campaign on another board, and tried to book it this morning before leaving for work. The booking engine promised me a room for NOK1, but it failed during reservation... Now i know why. I'll probably stay at RadissonBlu that night, so a little pre-do in the hotel bar should be obligatory!
Final Call! Alright folks, friday is here which means this is the last day to register for the Blue1 event in HEL! It's also the last day to book the special party-flight and hotel, so if you haven't done that, please do so ASAP. For instructions please see the following posts in this thread; post #151 for event bookings post #113 for flight bookings, and finally post #109 for hotel bookings Very much looking forward to seeing you all!
Info on Arlanda Express! After some communication with arlanda express, we've come to the solution that the cheapest way is individually booking the tickets ourself, they did offer up a group-rate, but required it to be bought in bulk with a price that wasn't even lower than if we book it this way. The cheapest option is booking tickets through their webshop and selecting the 'weekend return journey' at stage 3/5 for 325SEK r/t. This needs to be booked as a return journey to be valid for the discount, they are also only available through the webshop, and cannot be purchased at the station nor at the ticket machines. Anyone at the age of 25 or under should of course book the discounted youth tickets to get the best price, 260SEK r/t. Transportation to the hotel in Helsinki will be a charted bus, payment via paypal and should come to 10€ a pop.
Captainfire, just saw om my Amex-statement online that I was charged €173,30 (equaling ~1595 SEK) for the flight, not a SEK-amount. I think it's too much - has everybody else been charged in SEK? And 1300:-?
I've also been charged 173,30 EUR so it is probably a general problem. But I know that Captainfire has been speaking to Blue1. It's obviously an error that will be fixed.
Seems that this is a problem now affecting everyone, i'm working with Blue1 to get it corrected. The error probably lies in the booking system, it automatically adds on the booking fee of 35€ when a manual booking is performed. I sincerely apologise for this hick-up. The deal is 137,50€ for the flight, so everyone will of course get a 35€ refund.
Captainfire, you're being busy... Anyway, sounds great that we're getting a refund and thank you yet again for great work
Just checked my bank-statement and same for me. Thank you Captainfire for working your butt off for us others!
Train booked Still undecided about carry on only or a checked bag as well, which is better for tax free shopping.. Anyone know exactly were the lock boxes are located, and it there will be time to retrieve stuff there after or before the 747 hostel trip?
