You're lucky. Ours, the Brazilian ones, are now taking three months due to the overwhelming demand, and to the fact that our passports are only good for five years.

My Kiwi colleague has a five year passport. With the six month rule it becomes a four and a half year one!

When I lodged my renewal the post office woman had to chop bits off the cover of my old one. I almost cried seeing that happen!
