    Very impressive!

I've only seen a bobcat once. It was on the Blue Ridge Parkway, far away from houses, etc.
We still have black bears marauding through our neighborhood even in mid-summer when they are ordinarily hanging out in the mountains.

I've had a much, much smaller one hang out on the wall in my backyard. Mrs. Mac across the street from me had a momma and her kits living under a bush in her front yard. And 3 times last year my daughter came back from her walk to the bus stop in the morning because a bobcat was hanging out in the corner.
But this one in the picture? He is a big @ss bobcat. I don't like seeing them that big.

Here is one of the bears that is hanging out in our neighborhood. Picture is taken in my neighbor's yard. I no longer put up a bird feeder. Don't know if I will be able to again. Bear_0603 - Copy.jpg

All we have is an Arctic Hare and a number of magpies.

Simple way to get rid of the bear: buy him a ticket on United and send him as an Unaccompanied Minor. I hear they lose them. :p

If that doesn't work, disguise him as a guitar. :p:p

The bear would freak me out much more than a bobcat. Bears are mean.

Ive also had a family of javelina right in my front door step. Those little buggers are mean to but stupid and blind. Rather have a javelina than a bear.

It is very rare for black bears to attack humans. Mostly they run away when they see humans (I'm not not talking about a momma bear protecting cubs, of course). They are very plentiful around here. Biggest hassle for me is that I can't feed birds any more because the bears will destroy the feeders (or at least empty them out).

Does United fly to YEG? I imagine that an AVL-YEG flight would involve a few changes and give them plenty of opportunities to get lost. :D

United does fly to YEG. More frequency to YYZ.

I see you got your Kiva badge! Any tips on how I can get mine? My stickers arrived yesterday (many thanks to the sticker elves!) so now I just need a badge to make me feel complete. ;-)

Don't know if there are 'requirements' -- ie. time on team, # of loans made, etc.

Maybe if you left out some pickanick baskets to distract them.

I actually started a new conversation with Mikel. I'm not sure what the SOP is, but he's great and got back to me right away. Given the weekend, I'm assuming if you start a conversation with him, you'll hear back by mid-week next week. :D

Greetings, fellow MPers. In the process for returning from the longest vacation I've ever taken... over 3-weeks. While I was at Barbershop Harmony College for a week, Peach wandered around south-eastern Nebraska. We then spent the next two weeks working our way across Nebraska, Colorado, and New Mexico. Destination will be AZ tomorrow, and work on Tuesday!

A bit road weary today, but made a loan from the Helping thread... and caught up on all of my "likes"!

I got the moola on Friday, but was focusing on packing for a trip, so it'll be a couple of days.

I forgot to post about it last night but did anyone see the Philippines loan for about $700 but with a 47 month tennor. I think it was to buy some basic supplies or something.

I don't want to put people off lending but surely loans with that sort of length should have a warning on them so people are aware of the commitment.

I just wrote to Kiva and suggested that they put the loan term on the lend page so that you don't have to click on each loan to find out what their loan term is. Kivalens is still the best way to sort loans according to repayment term.
