I don't speak Southern. Miami is not considered the South. Northern Floridians consider my city an abomination.

I arrive on the 14th and leave the evening of the 23rd. Visiting ATL and DFW.

Georgia Tech? How dare you! You should be singing the glory of Georgia State.

(PS = I have no stake in either camp, since I'm a recent ATL transplant)

Well, we should probably get you, autolycus and flyingdawg together for a "friendly" discussion of Georgia sports.
I'm guessing that if we have a team of twenty referees we should be able to keep you guys from spilling too much blood. :p

I kid you not... this is a necessary skill.

Peach is from Georgia (a die-hard UGA fan, by the way,) and was transplanted to AZ via CA. Anyway, she worked for the local police department and, on more than one occasion, was asked to "translate" for someone from the south. I told her that she should identify as being bi-lingual on her resume because she speaks hick.

I thought most considered your city part of South America and not southern America.

    tondoleo Gold Member

I guess most do. They are wrong. The majority of the population in Miami-Dade County is from the Carribbean. jbcarioca should confirm that MIA is not part of South America.

Nah... I've finally gotten her past that. Took years of therapy, though.

Then how come the Marlin's team was introduced with Brazilian dancers?

I'm glad that my MLB.TV package blacks out their games. I am spared that suffering.

Brazilians make up approximately 1% of Miami-Dade's population. Perhaps the Marlins see them as the key demographic to fill the stadium and help their attendance problems.

Yes, we can be sure there is no chance the Marlins were trying to get attention with outlandish costumes and beautiful young women :D

Yes, their costumes are pretty outlandish. The young woman's costume is something, too. :D

We went to the home improvement store and bought a few items including two door stoppers. Turns out they are slightly different so MrMissB wants me to drive 30 minutes to exchange an item that cost $2.84 and hides near the floor on the back of the door. Then I drive 30 minutes to get home.

I told him I'll do it but I will also buy that wall hanging I was admiring.

I'd like to thank the second donor for my quest to rappel down a Hilton, Randy Peterson. Thanks Randy. You are indeed the man.
