Had an option of a 2 hr lay over at BKK before heading to SYD from HKG, but choose the almost 5 hr layover. Will that be enough time to land and request for 1 hr massages for the two of us? Would it had been possible for the shorter connection time?

Two hour layover will be tight for an hour-long massage but it can be done if heading to spa right away. You could always do 30 minute neck and shoulder...

Five hour layover won't feel too long, IMHO, with a 1 hour massage and time being taken care of in the first class lounge if you've never done it.

didn't want my question about HKG ground service to get missed, anyone experience TG F originating in HKG?

    Thanks!

Never have, that's why I did the longer one. Hoping to land, get a bite, relax, do massages and then maybe get a private room for a bit, if they are still avail.

Doing an over night in BKK before heading back to LHR. How long before my 1225pm flight should I get there for another massage before my flight?

For a nice leisurely time I would probably arrive 9am for your 12:25pm flight. You could certainly arrive earlier or later.

This has been mostly answered but I'll throw in some other things. 5 hrs is plenty and you'll get to have all that the TG F lounge has to offer. Nor will time drag on. Don't risk the quicker connection. It will likely result in a shorter spa session and little or no time for food/drink.

Recently my parents had a midnight flight out in F while we were flying back to PNH in Y at 6:30PM. In all the parents, who are not airport people at all, spent 8 hours in the lounge and loved every minute of it.

We will be arriving in BKK in business on the non-stop from LAX with a domestic connection to CNX, also on Thai, and a 3 hour laybover. Will our only lounge option be the domestic Royal Orchid lounge? Judging by the comments in this forum I'd be better off trying to access the SQ lounge, but not sure if I'll be forced into the domestic section of the airport upon arrival.

When you arrive you won't have to go through transfer immigration right away if you don't want, and you'd probably be let into the international lounges. And the TG domestic lounge isn't great by any means. I suppose you might want to head over there for a shower, and I think it ought to be doable. Though if it were me I'd probably just go through transfer immigration to the domestic terminal and over to the TG domestic lounge.

If you decide to go through int transfer immigraiton to access the int TG lounges (which you might well gain access to) do not at all costs show your domestic BP. The int transfer desks are upstairs beyond security so just say you're going there.

I've never tried it, but there are reports it works. Especially good if you're looking for a shower.

We arrived in TG F and were able to go into the Royal First lounge prior to going through transfer immigration to a PG flight. Was nice opportunity to take a shower, have some food, etc. Were not able to access the spa, however.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm guessing we'll want to stretch our legs a bit after the long flight so maybe I'll use the excuse to explore the airport and then head over to the domestic TG louge. We're in F on the way out so I'll use that time to check out the lounge and spa!

Upon arriving internationally into BKK, floor 2, your choices really are 1) immigration 2) int transfer security to the 3rd floor (int departures/lounges etc) 3) dom transfer security/immigration.

There is a smattering of duty free in the areas you access upon leaving the plane, but this is not wandering material. For that you'll need to go through the international transfer security, located at the junctions of A,B,C and at E,F,G in order to access the 3rd floor, where there's food, shops and lounges. If you're already going to be near the lounges why not go in one as well? There's no reason to spend alot of time in the domestic lounge.

I was having some trouble following the discussion having never been to BKK before and being a very visual person. I found a link to the terminal map on the Thai Airways website and thought I'd post it here for reference in case anyone else might find it helpful.

The map is very helpful as a reference guide. I could have been more descriptive, it's funny how that gets lost when you're comfortable with a particular setting. Does the explanation make sense to you now?

Yes I think I'm all set now! Unfortunately the trip won't come until later this summer, but I'll be sure to report back after the trip so others can learn from the experience. Thanks again for the advice.

Any info on gleff s question? Ill be departing in F on TG next week. thx

Was my question HKG-BKK? No special ground service for departing F pax in HKG. They do golf cart arrival. There's a separate F side to the TG lounge, which is conveniently located above the TG gates, and it has menu service in addition to access to the buffet shared with business.

No service at all for me either. Lounge was average, but the attendants did try alot. The massage chair there was nice. Old 747 to BKK.

I would asume only the following pax gets a buggy service upon arrival at BKK:-

    1) a pax coming off a TG F flight, regardless of destination or which carrier they are flying next.
    2) a pax coming off a TG C flight and checked through to a connecting to a TG F flight

So any there any other pax who receives such buggy service? (apart from those requiring mobility assistance).
