Did you received any notification? I wonder if this is the same that happened to me. Once I contacted TG to assist me in changing my FB info, I found that I wasn't getting any points. I also had my FS changed also to reflect this. But again, I never received any notification. Oh well, it was good till it lasted.

Have you tried requesting TG to cancel your account and program details, wait a few days and reopen again under a different FB account?

Did you check in from the actual location, or were you doing it from your home/work computer?

This is one reason I've never contacted them for help......even if things are not posting. I look at it as free miles/points if they post.

    VERY Nearby

I think if you check in every day it at the same location it could be a red flag to Topguest. You can try deleting your accounts and redo the whole deal and see if it will start working again.

iphone 3g always within 1 mile. I can lie in my own bed and on the immediate first boot of foursquare up comes hampton inn, double tree and holiday inn and best western around the corner. i checked into these 3 programs evryday when waking up.

i have been using the MP/CO check in thing with no problems via FourSquare. points have been posting usually that same day, sometimes within hours.

that said (after reading this whole thread) i would like to also get HH points but find that i need to sign up for a topGuest acct, apparently. ?? what is stopping me is them wanting my FaceBook info to sign up. is there any way to not use that info. i do NOT want to spam my FB friends and would prefer to use FourSquare instead.

TIA for any info about that.

just ignore that last part. definitely user error on my part.

So use it :). It being Foursquare. Have a look at the Topguest site, I believe it was fairly straightforward to get a Foursquare account linked to a new Topguest account.

thanks, yes, i was able to work that out. :D for some reason (my error) i had misunderstood the sign up process. LOL! will see in the future how well the HH and PC points post compared to my CO/UA points. free points are free points. i will take what i can get these days. ;)

Checking in with little to no time inbetween is a sure fire way to get banned.

I only have a UA number...I suspect I'll need a new CO number to keep getting 4Sq miles when I "visit" airports. Anyone made the transition yet on TopGuest/4Sq?

Are you saying if you have been banned... you can have your program details deleted and then use the same accounts in a new topguest account? Or did I miss something here?

I can't figure out either where it would show in my Kimpton account -- or if it's just not working for my Kimpton account. (I am not a huge Kimpton person, but I do like their hotels.)

no kidding...so when i got the warning i only did one at a time, separated by long periods. say for example, i would check in at BW in morning and HI in evening.
This caused an earlier debate with another MP member about how they track you and catch you in violation. This other member seemed to think that if you were using foursquare for ONLY checking into topguest places then they would violate you. So, their solution was to checkin to multiple other places. I thought and still think that this makes no sense. THey dont care where else you checked in, Topguest must flag accts that check in to THEIR participants (hotels etc) with either high frequency and multiple participants on same day, and of course the obvious distance screeening.

bottom line, i was def not violated for distance.

Interesting observation last night. Upon arrival at IAD last night on an inbound flight, I did a FS check-in to the United club *BEFORE* I checked in at the airport. I received the MP Social Offers e-mail before I checked in at the actual airport. So, I guess you can use some of the clubs as an "official" check-in spot.

Not surprising since I've been getting the miles for checking in to an airport hotel rather than the airport itself.

just a little fyi, I checked into a hotel monaco last november and around jan 1 in awardwallet the stay posted. Since they no others have as I believe topguest only always a check in there once.

For United, you just have to check in "near" the airport. I work around EWR and check into a new business daily and I get the email and eventual miles posted.

so now that the United/Continental merger has been completed, are the miles still posting from either program when checking in through foursquare? As a precaution, I added my new united number, whereas I earlier had most miles post shortly after checking in for the last 5 days I have seen nothing post.

fyi united miles posted today, parents still have continental posting to much surprise...

How many miles/points did you collect before getting banned? I have around 2500 each from Hilton, Best Western and Priority Club....

Another data point. I checked in at the Hertz location at DEN. Immediately after the check-in, I got the Mileage Plus social offers e-mail indicating I had checked in at DEN. So, in some cases, you may not need to get overly close to qualify for an airport check-in. For those that aren't familiar with DEN, I'd say it's a solid half mile to the terminal as the crow flies from Hertz.
