We plan on spending two weeks in Hawaii later this year and are trying to decide where to spend our time. We have been to Oahu and Kauai. Is one week sufficient on Hawaii or should we spend more time there? How much time should we spend on Maui?
Maui was not my speed. Too many people and too many families. I absolutely love Kauai and go every year.
You don't need more than 5 nights if you're worried about families and crowds. You can do most everything without rushing in that time. Of course, you could spend more. But given that you have two weeks I wouldn't spend less unless you add a third island like Kaui.
