We'll see how close we are once a TA is drafted and details filter through the ranks. For the TA to be ratified, I suspect some measure of retroactive pay and, at worst, no expansion of outsourced flying will be needed in order to ensure enough pilots get on board.

The fact that the parties were able to agree in principle is a long-overdue step in the right direction.

dear respected Supreme Leader ... or something like that. For some reason d.r.H.G. uses that when referring to UA's CEO on this board.

Jeff Smisek is the dear respected Supreme Leader of United, the world's leading airline. He is the lodestar of commercial aviation, the best airline manager who has ever lived. The d.r.S.L.'s bold vision of an airline with a better network than any other is at once compelling to the heart of every good frequent traveler.

Hopefully this won't turn into an AC style clusterf***, where the union leaders would approve a tentative deal and the members would vote it down. ;)

I am really interested to hear about adjustments to the scope clause. If it's like Delta's contract we could see less 50 seaters and more bigger regionals or some smaller mainline AC.
