The best way is just participate. Share with others your experiences and expertise, and post useful content.
There is also the MilePoint Kiva Team. Rumor has it that joining the team has a benefit on status; if nothing else, you get lots of "like" points. There is also the MP Kiva Lounge thread, as well as various other "lounge" threads where we just socialize.

Finally, there a are bunch of social threads that have nothing to do with useful content... they're just for fun.

Hi thanks for liking my question-
I am fairly certain I will join kiva
What are the other interesting lounges etc you would
Recommend please? I am excited to be attending FTU EWR even though
I won't know a soul there- hope people are moderately
    Friendly and not exclusionary

Ditto what Misman said. Just go though the forums and share your opinions or experiences or introduce yourself in one of the many lounge threads around here. Welcome to MP! :)

You will definitely find at least one person that's friendly ;). Actually, MP is a pretty friendly place compared to other sites because there is a great social emphasis (as well as the miles & points game)

This is neither witty nor wise - it's just downright wrong! :)

Cool! Just got my gift credit today from Starbucks for making "Milepoint Gold." Thanks, milepoint! Started to use it with an orange-mango smoothie on the way home from the gym and 6 1/2 mi on the treadmill. I happened to choose a Starbucks with absolutely abysmal - and slow - service, but that ain't milepoint's fault :) When I take my next bite out of the credit, it will be at another area Starbucks that I know will treat me better.

wouldn't the orange-mango smoothie cancel out everything you did at the gym and treadmill? :p

The awarding of points seems to be less automatic than it once was. Like Mr. Al Gorithm no longer works a regular shift. Used to be the MP system would look at such factors as number of likes received hourly, like at 41 or so minutes after the hour, and award bonus, status or whatever based on the hourly check. Now it no longer appears to be so. I got my big bonus for '3,000 likes' only weeks later, like when I really was at 3,243 or some crazy number like that. And now that I passed 3,500, nothing yet. Hey, Al, come back from your extended Mileage Run and start using The Rhythm Method once again!

Once you get to the higher numbers, status points are given much less often. There is nothing for 3500 likes.

Agreed that receiving the MP points takes longer to appear once a threshold has been hit. Not sure if it coincidence or not, but lately my MP points have been posting only on Monday mornings.

What airlines take MP points? They have a low cap. If they were credit card points, I'd cancel and get a better card!!! ;).

Come on Randy -- you need to feed us point hounds better.:)

More specifically, can I transfer MP points to US Airways for a Grand Slam hit?
  14. kansaskeith Gold Member

    I betcha it's a one-word answer. Two-letters, probably not 'ya.' lol
