Last year I bought an otterbox defender case for my ipad for under $50 from Amazon, the only problem is it makes it quite a bit heavier but protection is fantastic.
My worst would be a case as well. I bought one of those "leather" off ebay from Hong Kong. For the price I paid I did not expect much, but to start with did not have a hole for the light sensor. It also did not hold it in very well and after the ipad fell out I decided to throw it away.
ZAGGsparq 2.0 The iPad has great battery life, but for those really long trips, this battery is the best.
Thanks for the info on that one, just one look and I want it. I tought about buying the invisible shield from this company once before but thought it would be to hard to put on.
I tried and failed - try to find a store or kiosk and have them install. Its well worth the cost. Last week I saw a Zagg kiosk in the Philippines, so they are growing in popularity.
The international charger adapter set from Apple. Works with any Apple device but indispensable for travel abroad with my iPhone. Also, wouldn't think of leaving home without AT&T's international data plan.
Zagg invisibleSHIELD anti-scratch film. Is not too hard to put on if you have a well lit area, clean hands, and patience.
I listen to music a lot, so a set of headphones with a mic, ipod controls, and a pick up/ hang up button. Better sound quality than the stock earbuds, and it's convenient to not have to dig around in my pocket when the phone rings.
Do you think that Zagg shield could be put on the iPad2 and inserted into say, a leather case? How does the screen look with the shield on it?
I have the anti-glare screen protector from Power Support for both my iPad and my iPhone. I love this product -- been using it for almost three years. Also, it is very easy to install on your own as long as you follow the directions that come with it. http://www.powersupportusa.com/accessories/ipad/hd-anti-glare-film.html I purchased the "iCon" leather padded protector for my iPad and really like that it folds into a stand. Comes in very handy for watching movies while I am flying! http://amzn.to/g8vcGy
A good pair of headphones/mic to replace the ones that come with the iphone4 (currently UE superfi5vi) and a portable charger (iGo Charge Anywhere) for extra juice while traveling
This is my favorite gadget for my iPhone/iPad. It's a bluetooth speaker and speakerphone. http://bit.ly/iedDR9
I have had my ZaggSparQ about a year and never had a problem. I also had the first version and there was a recall and the quickly replaced units. Zagg stands behind what they sell. I have not found another good option for an external iPad battery. I do a lot of long haul flights and the 10 hour iPad battery doesn't always make it, so I need an external source.
For Otterbox fans, the website still says the Defender series case is "coming soon" for iPad2. However, Amazon has started selling the iPad2 Defender case. Sells from a third party, and says it will ship within one to three weeks. Price is still a little steep, $84.99.
I bought an extra charger for my iPhone/iPad that just plugs straight into the wall and has a very nice long cord. It is great for when I travel and you are at a hotel and the plug is in an awkward spot. The one downside of it is that it has a very bright blue light on the front. I bought it on Amazon though it doesn't look like they sell it any longer. It only cost me a couple bucks too!
My Sennheiser CX-300 II earphones made a big difference to my iphone's listening experience. Very happy with them!
